Networking is the most successful job search method in Asia

Networking has become the most successful job search technique in 2009 in the Asia-Pacific region, says a survey.

Right Management survey confirms networking as a powerful job search method in Asia

According to a study of 2,900 successful job seekers by consultancy firm Right Management, 30% of them acknowledged that networking brought success to them finding a new job last year, an 8% increase from 2008.

Ronnie Tan, group executive vice president for the Asia-Pacific region at Right Management, commented that demographic, technological and social trends have driven networking for employment to become more relevant for the job search, as the role of social networking become more vital.

Tan also felt that online networking sites have greatly expanded the “reach of the classic person-to-person networking” with more people may be reached as old friends and acquaintances are easily found. “All professionals, whether in career transition or fully employed, now have to regard online networks as an essential component of their overall career management & development, as well as their job search.”
