Use LinkedIn groups to kick-start your networking & job search in Singapore

As many of you will already know, LinkedIn can be very useful for making business contacts and also for getting leads during your job search. For those who have created an account recently, you might find it hard to build your contact list quickly. This is especially so if few of your colleagues, friends and family are using LinkedIn.

How using LinkedIn groups can help your job search and networking

A quick way to get plugged-in and have access to contacts is by joining relevant groups. This has many advantages, the most important ones being:

  • In their privacy settings, many people allow fellow members of the group to contact them directly, without having to get introduced through a 1st level contact
  • You can follow the activity of the group, which involves posting of discussions, questions, jobs and news
