During conversations with friends, family and clients I am frequently asked which recruitment agencies in Singapore I recommend and which should be avoided.
While I do have certain impressions & views on the topic, I thought it would be good to get a feel from people in the trenches.
So I started by searching several forums & websites to gather comments, mostly from job seekers, who have dealt with employment / recruitment agencies in Singapore.
I went back to around the end of 2009 and think I managed to put together all comments from forums and other sources available on the internet, which provide feedback on various recruitment agencies in Singapore.
As a job seeker, this article can help you get great information about dealing with recruiters in Singapore, in 2 ways:
- Go through or search hundreds of revealing comments from job seekers at the end of this post, to learn from other’s mistakes when dealing with recruiters.
- Read feedback collected from other websites/forums, on various recruitment agencies.
Achieve Group/Career Consultant
- “worst experience is with: achieve”
- “today I received my first call from a new agency (for me), Achieve Careers. OMG! The way the agent talk is like “take it or leave it”. I was actually interested in the job offer but her attitude really turned me off. Plus she suddenly started to speak in Mandarin halfway. Its actually ok with me but isn’t it kinda unprofessional?”
- “Achieve has long list of Singaporean blacklisted”
- “I would also like to share my job hunting experiences using these recruitment agencies in Singapore. The worst experience I have ever encountered was with Achieve Group. One of the agent (S*rah T**) called me, talked me down by saying lack of exp, lack of relevant degree cannot ask for high salary and be picky about it. Not only that, she arranged an interview without telling me the location and job description and didn’t confirm with me till the actual day. I was appalled when I found out the JD of the job was something else during the actual interview. After the interview, she continued to talk me into taking the offer so that she can meet her sales quota. Of course, I rejected her offer knowing that this is not the job I want to do. “
- “met a female rather plump consultant who colluded with the client and paid me lesser than required. and threaten me that she will call the police when i ask her about my pay. she is from ACHIEVE CAREER”
- “Based on the responses I saw in this forum, there are many junior recruiters around and they do not have the adequate knowledge of the job but just wanted to reach their sales quota of the day and hence they become very pushy and aggressive. “
- “I had a very bad experience with this recruitment agency in Singapore. Achieve group. this evening at abt 8plus a guy call daryl from this company called me and asked me qns in a very rude tone which I felt offended. I told him I felt offended and he replied me very rudely that if just because of wad he asked I felt offended then I’m not suitable for the position and just hang up the phone without saying sorry or thank you. I called back demanding to speak to his manager n his reply was “you wait long long ah” (sounds childish isn’t it? makes me wonder wad type of recruitment consultant this company is hiring.) n when I insisted he actually replied me “what the **** you want” how is this professional when he used vulgarities when his signboard is hanging his employer’s name. I told him how could he use vulgarities. n he dared to challenge me by asking wad can I do to him. n I told him I will bring this matter up. he challenged me again saying “you come la. I invite you down”
- “achieve career got me my 1st job tho, the career consultant xj, was a nice guy and they weren’t as stuck up as i would imagine they to be even tho my qualifications isnt high. Despite going for one interview and the recruiter didn’t want me,he still called me and got me a contract job. Too bad, i didn’t have the opportunity to thank them”
Recruit Express Pte Ltd (Singapore)
- “i had a bad experience with recruit express a couple of years ago. i got a part-time job as a promoter through them, but on my first day of work, the supermarket i turned up at wasn’t even expecting me! i had no choice but to go back home through no fault of my own.”
- “i think RE requires people to sign contract and you have to pay quite a lot if you break their contract. i don’t really like RE, most of the time they just totally don’t bother helping me find a job at all.”
- “Yes, I do agree with many of you who have posted negative comments relating to Recruit Express. I had several interactions with more than a handful of agencies but Recruit Express was the worse I have encountered. “
- “I consider Recruit Express’ consultants as unprofessional even though they may be dressed in business suits; their actions, their language and their attitude was a total disgrace; they seemed too $$$-focused and overlooked the importance of sustaining future sales and have been having bad reputations which all explained by their substandard service quality (to companies and to candidates). It’s quite helpless to rely on them, seriously.”
- “Alright I wanna let you guys know that i’m now currently working at RE whoever knows it, I have to admit that i might not be competent enough to do this job. But i just think that its unethical to cheat/ lie or give people a false hope, AN EXTREME false hope especially now during the recession. I’m being forced to hit quotas like meeting 10 candidates a day, send 10 resumes to client and 3 candidate interviews with client.”
- “Alright i’ve just received letter from RE upon breaching the contract in which i’m rather confused but, i guess i’ll just ignore it. and they ask me to pay 879$ after deducting the working days. that’s total blood sucking, and stated they won’t hesitate to take legal actions.”
- “Anyway what i know from them is that if I get a job from them, we need to pay $50 by cash or money order. Then must work at least 3 month otherwise we need to pay 80% of yr 1 month expected salary.”
- “i am currently under contract with RE. One thing i can say is that this agency is delaying my pay. Supposed i shall receive by the end of April. But while my colleagues from other agencies got the pay, i am still like calling up the agency for my pay. Firstly, the first excuse they give me is the payroll officer is on leave”
- “when i first graduated from junior college, waiting for my university to start, i tried job hunting to direct employers..but without prior work experience, i had to seek help from recruitment agencies in Singapore and my friend introduced RE.. i tot the service wasnt too bad as my agent improved on my resume, found me a suitable job. however, my friend who also got her job through RE happened to read the email that was sent from RE to her employer about the salary payment/transaction. temp/contract staff like me and my friends were paid $6/hour (the lucky ones got it at $7/hour), but in fact, according to the email correspondence between my friend’s employer and RE was that her salary is in fact $9/hour…meaning RE is ‘eating up’ $3/hour as agency fee..too ridiculous to me.”
- “Strangely, didn’t have that bad experiences wit recruit express…”
- “I’m a Senior HR professional wkg for various MNCs for about 8 years…Sad to say its true that many recruitment agencies in Singapore r substandard..u will realise that the better recruiters are caucasians notably aussies..they r courteous, professional and will always try to follow up if possible. My opinion is that the worst agency in Singapore is Recruit Express. The only reason they r doing well is they know how to provide good account management to companies but they show a different facet to candidates.”
- “definitely on my “DO NOT GO” list… many agents behave in a childish & unprofessional manner; major turnoff”
- “I again had a bad experience with a female consultant after 6 years at Recruit Express UOB Tower 1 56th floor last week. Please aware of this consultant as she use hard sell tactics to force candidates to take up jobs from her private clients. And here is her profile at LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view…cmpt%3Aprimary“
- “Recruit Express is No. 1 on my ‘Worst’ list as well. Only contract you on the very last min and they screw up, telemarketing sale can become retailing sales!”
- “But they were voted best recruitment company leh.. I wonder how they manage to get it.. Ya, I agree, RE really wasting my time to go down fill up form and never reveal details, hide information until last min then tell you”
- “Had bad experience with recruit express also. All different agents from same or different branches will call you down to fill up forms over and over again. They have to understand that it is important not to waste candidate’s time.”
- “Mine RE branch is at the Ngee Ann City. I applied for the post of engineering asst offered by RE via the job portal. That was the first time I went down to Recruit Express and my experience with them was a pleasant one. I was kind of taken aback when I read through forums in jobscentral and hardwarezone to learn that many ppl have bad experiences with RE. I guess I was really very fortunate to come along a friendly and thoughtful consultant who can even goes as far as giving me additional tips/advices on getting through my second interview with their client successfully. “
- “Consultants let candidates make wasted trips to their office , cater only to candidates with high qualifications”
Adecco Singapore
- “I have taken up numerous job assignments from Adecco and from my experience, I did not see a cut in my salary and neither did they require a fee for using their service.”
- “If you are looking for a job, go for the reputable ones such as Adecco, Kelly Services and Manpower. Agencies that are in the Global Fortune 500 are even more trusted.”
- “I do have a personal friend who got a job through Adecco agency and very happy with her current job with good pay and no need to work long hours too.”
- “Although they are my competitors, i must say that they do have a very good reputation and till now i’m impressed with their service.”
- “I have good experience with Adecco. Few years back, I got a job with a US MNC through Adecco recommendation and my pay is the same as those who were recruited directly by the MNC”
- “Adecco and Kelly Services not bad”
- “i have been to Kelly, Adecco & GMP. All 3 provide good service to me.”
- “The person who spoke to me is well-mannered and explained patiently to me”
- “Adecco is much better.”
Kelly Services
- “If you are looking for a job, go for the reputable ones such as Adecco, Kelly Services and Manpower. Agencies that are in the Global Fortune 500 are even more trusted.”
- “I feel that Kelly Services is not a bad choice.”
- “Kelly services seems quite reputable and reliable”
- “Adecco and Kelly Services not bad”
- “I’ve gotten a job (worked for an established logistic co.) before from Kelly Services. The consultant even came down to the my workplace to check up on my friend & i and also some of my other colleagues, who apparently gotten the job through KS too. Anyways, there weren’t any processing fees whatsoever but just the same ‘no termination within 3 months’ thingy.”
- “Kelly Services for me. had a bad experience with them once.”
- “i have been to Kelly, Adecco & GMP. All 3 provide good service to me.”
- “Kelly Service didn’t give me good impression when their consultant called me, so i let them fly kite”
- “Some weird agent asked me go to her office keep on calling my given name as my surname! told her not to release my CV unless she tell me what company she got pissed off and became very rude! I was like WTF!”
SG Recruiters
“Sgrecruitment is the worst”
JAC Recruiters Singapore
- “I considered JAC recruitment as the best recruitment agency in Singapore thus far. They are sincere with their service, very professionally and ethical. Their business operation standard has far exceeded beyond other agencies that still use paper+pen for registration and have you to fill up few pages”
- “JAC is good while recruit express is crap.”
Mullan Schwartz
“I have just get a job here in Singapore with Goldman Sachs but secured my position through a Hong Kong based search firm called Mullan Schwartz. They were very professional and concentrate on mainly the investment banking sector.”
Global Sage
“I also managed to secure a number of interviews through another firm called HK firm called Global Sage. The firm is staffed by people that really understand investment banking and who have great contacts in the market.”
Manpower Singapore
- “If you are looking for a job, go for the reputable ones such as Adecco, Kelly Services and Manpower. Agencies that are in the Global Fortune 500 are even more trusted.”
- “Best experience with: manpower”
- “For IT jobs, try Manpower Staffing. May not be the most responsive but definitely worth your time. Me & friends - all IT folks got our jobs from there. Consultants very friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. They fight for our salary as well.”
- “In terms of more junior positions, they r one of the better agencies together with Randstad. No doubt about it. Everyone knows they r the master vendor for IBM. In other words, you wan a more credible agency you can use Manpower.”
Axis Manpower
“Axis Manpower is the worst agency”
Global Manpower Professionals (GMP) Group
- “GMP is quite good too as there is CPF contribution from employer part too. I was working as temp IT position then. I seldom see CPF contribution from recruitment agency before for temp position, correct me if I am wrong.”
- “i have been to Kelly, Adecco & GMP. All 3 provide good service to me.”
- “remember a REALLY bad experience with GMP Recruitment Service. They turned their noses up at me and said I lacked drive and ambition and would remain a failure in life.”
- “Consultants with stuck up attitude , Look down on candidates with low qualifications”
Unilite Recruitment Services
“I called to enquire about a job before sending in my resume since it is stated in their ad that applicants can call for a confidential chat. Twice, I was rebuffed by an impatient lady who keep saying to send in my resume so that they can KIV my profile if there are no suitable openings. ”
Thomas J Consulting Services
“I went there for interview and the interviewer keep yawning during the interview and even handed me, not his, but another consultant’s namecard!”
Robert Walters Singapore
“This manager is also impatient. Did not want to talk too much to me and she rudely cut me off.”
TBC HR Consulting
- “TBC is commonly recognised as one of the worst recruitment agencies in Singapore.”
- “Agree with you should forget about TBC. This company blacklisted by many candidates and companies. They last time always delay payment to their staff and promoters until a lot left.”
- “TBC is the worse of the worst recruitment agency. Beware of this TBC consultant, Dave! I’m not going to seek any jobs from TBC and neither am I going to recommend to anyone. “
Search Network
- “Recruitment agencies in Singapore that charges a fee are purely BS, man! Search Network is another case.”
- “Search Network are dishonest with payment of salary . You’ll always get $50++ lesser then your actual pay and when u call up the consultants to clarify . COINCIDENTALLY , they’re not there ALL THE TIME .”
- “Search Network not bad. got my current job.”
Ace Recruiters
“1. I send in my resume on Monday, they called me on Tues morning and I was offered a job on Tues afternoon and went down to their office to sign the contract
- the staffs are very polite. Every call they make, they always start with “Hi, is this XXX? i am YYY from Ace Recruiters.” Everytime i call them, they will start with the standard greeting of “hi, XXX company, i am YYY”
- And while i was at their office signing the contract, they are really busy, keep making phone calls and doing job matches. i also listen to the way they speak, thus i know that they are not acting but really polite and very friendly as well.
- The staff also went through the contract with me in detail and was very patient with all sorts of questions that i asked (i still didn’t trust them 100% though) and they are very transparent in terms of how the money will be process, submission of timesheets etc. all these are explained clearly
the only thing is that they only have 3 staff, so they are really super busy. sometimes the staff might forget so you must take the initiative to check out details”
Raffles Agency
“The Worst Recruitment Agency EVER in SINGAPORE is RAFFLES AGENCY..I hope Jobseekers never approach this agency..they will fix and change your CREDENTIALS”
BGC Group
- “Not that bad, no tricks unlike RE”
- “My worst experience so far is with BGC Group. I applied for one of their jobs through jobsite. One day later I got a phone call from them around noon but I didn’t pick up on time, I called back at 12.10 and was told to call back later as they were all out to lunch. At 2pm I called again and they were STILL all afk (wow 2 hour lunch!), the consultant on the line took my name then promised to ask around to see who called me, ofc there was no reply. 3 or so days later the same thing happened again, I noticed a missed call and called back, I gave the consultant who pick up my name and ask him to help to ask around regarding who called me, he tried to taichi me away but i insisted and then he put me on hold, and after that came back and then said that nobody called me. I want to work for BGC now. 2+ hour lunch + you can prank call jobseekers for fun!”
- “Worst Agency = BGC & TBC & RE. No calls back from BGC/TBC if u failed 1 of the client’s interview - no other lobang for u - Blacklisted !!”
- “TBC/BGC i think same company under 1 boss. If once you attend 1 of their’s client’s interview then if failed, they usually say will KIV ctc u if there anything. but they would throw yr resume aside in the bin and no more news from them. I dont know why both agency are like that.”
- “BGC not bad, looks very corporate. Depending on which office you go to. The one at One Raffles Place, offers alot of call centre jobs. The office at Former Hitachi Tower are more of perm & high positions.”
Randstad
“They r one of the better recruitment agencies in Singapore together with Randstad.”
People Search Singapore
“Recruit Express and Peoplesearch are related. Peoplesearch is a sister company of a search firm called HR Net One. The owner of RE is the sibling of the owner of HR Net One. Thats why their philosophy and way of doing biz is similar”
Ambition
- “Ambition is a search firm which means they only handle positions above 4k normally. Yes their consultants are quite professional. But then search consultants normally are more experienced and professional”
- “Recently got a job through Ambition. I think they specialize in operations in the finance industry. The consultant was quite good. Before the interview, he asked me down to his office to prep me for the interview and gave me more info of the hiring managers, which i found very useful. After that, he kept updating me with the results, so ya lor.. I think overall experience is good”
Career Central
“Hi friends, I just want a add to the list of worst recruitment agencies in singapore. “CAREER CENTRAL” in tanjong pagar. Until you pay the money they ask, they will respond. Around 1000$ i paid. Later no respect or response they will provide. They will shout back if you ask for reason/clarifications. I dont know how people take others money just for granted shameless creatures. Just an eye wash thy will do. Arrange for a interview and for that they charged around 200$. same company same position they will send 100’s of people and say every one got selected. Then they say give 750$ for mom application procedures. knowingly your application will get rejected[Every one can do this by checking self assesment tool to check salary]they will tell it doesn’t matter and you will get selected with other criterias. They will apply for pass and say thats it we did our job, but you are not qualified. And no repaymet of money. It takes only 60$ for application even that they will get back if our application got rejected. But these people costed like hell..they know we wont be shouting back at them since we would have been in short term visit we will get back to our country and they can live happily. I know around 10 people paid the same in that week. Not even one got selected. I don know how many they will cheat for a month then surprised to think about year. They don understand how people suffer to earn that money. They will also suffer the same way getting cheated by others. Kind advice dont approach/trust and lose hope. Better not to approach this idiots so that atleast we will not feel cheated along with not having a job.”
TCC Group
- “I went to TCC hr to apply for hotel food server job part time, and they require $10 for TCC card, non refundable paid during job training wif employer. Is this reasonable? Also, I have to go to the agency to collect salary, is this standard practice?”
- “i tried TCC before but not on the retail nor F&B side, they also offer part time work at Marina Bay Sand Casino as well. so far experience quite good, if your working at casino, clothing and meals provided..etc salary wise is standard $7 per hour depending on where field your working”
- “Tcc also scam one. They do give some training but the actual job slots? Nothing.”
IT Force
“One more recruitment agency in Singapore to avoid at all cost. IT Force Pte Ltd. their only client is NCS and their big problem is they always late in salary payment. with reason that ncs takes time to pay them. once my salary was late for 2.5 months. Please avoid this agency at all cost.”
Recruit Plus
“I would like to add RecruitPlus into the list of worst recruitment agencies in Singapore. I called them up to enquire about a position they have listed on JobsDB. The consultant, Christopher Lim, answered my call and did not even address himself. He spoke with a rather unpleasant/unfriendly tone as if everyone owes him the world. What made me unhappy was when he asked me what I wanted when clearly I told him I called to enquire about the position availability and more details of the job. None of the queries were answered, after which the call was disconnected abruptly. I called back immediately and questioned why the call was hung up. He responded saying that he was in the lift and did not even apologize. He went on asking what my expected and previous salary was and commented rudely after hearing my answer. His exact words were,”Huh! Why you want to change job, your pay so good, I suggest you stay in your current job.” I was literally speechless. He went on saying I don’t have the experience without even vetting through my resume. Totally un-professional! The best part is that I googled his Linkein account and found out he does not even have experience in this field. Really makes you wonder if the recruitment agency really has the capacity to actually help job seekers.”
Xcellink
- “share with chiu my experience with xcellink.. went for interview last week and few days later was offered the job. went to their office to sign the LOA and they told me to do some xray before i start my job. supposed to start my job this week but when i called them, they said haven’t process my clearance etc. then few days later, call me again saying no longer have this job position. wtf? angry“
- “Consultants not serious and giggle during interview , let candidates make wasted trips to their office , stuck up attitude”
- Had a very bad experience with Xcellink Pte Ltd named Jacqueline(Piony). Don’t even know what is she doing or reading.”
Advent Resource Consultancy
“very rude when calling candidates on the phone , attitude problems , lecture candidates on the phone , hurried interview with candidates at their office , not sincere.”
Multiply Search
“Insisted got many job offers for me, when I asked to email me the job details or call me, he didn’t do it. But when I went down, nothing at all. Also, the person who talked to me wasn’t the one who contacted me.”
Hutranz
- “I would like to add “Hutranz” into one of the worst recruitment agency. As they requested me to provide a early termination from my previous company and promise me they will absorb the penalty, they didn’t give me the “black and white” as i keep asking for it. As they keep saying that they need time to produce the “black and white”, i worked for 2 weeks in an uneasy manner.
During my payday, i didn’t receive my pay. When I called them, they mentioned that my pay is on hold for “various” reason. They were unable to provide me the “reason” as i asked them. I feel cheated therefore i quit as there is no guarantee that i will get my pay. As i asked them what is the proper procedure to leave the work, what is the notice, they told me 1 word - Why should I pay you? This word is told by “Director” of Huntranz, Suresh. I am furious and i have no way to go about it. Therefore I informed the place I worked for that i will just go and find another job.
And within 1 day, I received a “black and white” from them stating that they do not owe me any salary. A word to describe my situation: WTF??? Feeling sad and betrayed, I left the company without getting paid. Therefore hope that the people after reading this post, won’t encounter such issue like me anymore.”
Success Human Resources
“Not sure if anyone tried Success Human Resources(peace centre). I have been spamming my resumes all over, going for interviews to find a job I’d like. Gotten a call from a recruiter (J*nsen), been asked to head down for an interview with him before I went to their client for another interview, for all, which I went, and their client, a banking organization, accepted me. He told me that if i verbally accepted the job, it means that i have committed to the job, and anytime if i back out, i would have to pay a month salary for compensation. After that he told me to start work on Wednesday, then he called again to say they want me to start the following monday instead, and that he will call me back to confirm with me. Of course that didnt happen, and I have to call him for the updates. Then finally he told me that the hiring manager decided to freeze the position. In this process, I rejected 4-5 jobs.
From then on, he didnt really wanna give an F about me. He’s not even guilty of this. I got so pissed off that I scolded him and ask him to delete my profile from their data base.”
Rcube Vital Consultancy
“But I have recently tried a new recruitment agency and had a not bad experience with them as the staff are polite and friendly, they feel sincere enough to me. Donno if anyone here heard of them before: Rcube Vital Consultancy.”
Applied job with them before, didn’t get selected tho but their staff quite friendly compared to the others…”

Hello guys, I am from india and have 4.5 years of experience in system administrator field and I am looking for job in Singapore. Please refer me or share the best consultancy name to get a job. Currently staying in Singapore and can be joined immediately.
Hi, I’ve had a good experience with Recruit Express and they found a job for me that suits me. The worst Recruitment Agency that I’ve come across is Globesoft. Must be new because I’ve never heard of them. Been telling me that she will arrange an interview day after day for a week. When I ask her again because I’ve been shortlisted by a company and ask her when can I go for the interview because I find that the job they advertised really suits me and I’m keen in applying for it. She watapps me and told me that she forgot the HR us away and will ask the next in-charge. When I saw the advertisement,it was on 19/07/2017.
We communicate via watapps and she ask me if I’m available for an interview the next day. I told her I can’t and she said she try to arrange it on the next day but I did not get a reply for her. So I called her again and she said she will get back to me once the HR is back. I felt like a total idiot for believing in her and in my opinion, the worst ever Recruitment Agency in Singapore considering that I’ve never heard of them compare to the other Recruitment Agency. So my advice before you send your resume, check their services first and make sure they are reliable.
Hi Sand Box Advisors,
This article was indeed very helpful and well compiled.
I am an Indian who will be moving from India to Singapore on DP as my husband is moving there on EP
I have 3+years of experience in IT MNC (Fortune 500) - in business analysis, business development & consulting.
Do you think you could help in advising on the below:
1. How much agency fees is reasonable? (Asking so that I could steer clear of the more unprofessional ones)
2. Do you think some one like me would stand a chance in the current Singaporean job market?
3. How much time on an average should i expect to bid in order to get a suitable job?
I know most of these questions are case dependent and hence will vary, but response based on your extensive experience would really help
Thanks in advance!

Hello it is my first post on this website and to start with I would like to thank for the great quality information,
which I were able to find in this and all previous posts ,it really helped me a lot.
Hi Guys. Ever heard of City Manpower Consultancy? I have an interview later @ 5:30 PM. They are asking for $500 for downpayment before interview. Do you think it is right? Please reply. Thanks.
They said it is refundable if i don’t get the job or if my pass get rejected. I am having a second thought. but if I got the job, I will pay them $3500. I wonder if you can help me? some advice please. because i searched it already and no comments, complaints or anything about it. but it is really legit, i looked at MOM. When i said to them that I won’t come anymore, they said that “I wont pay the downpayment anymore, i will be interviewed first then if I like the job, I will pay.”
It’s kind of weird in my opinion that you have to pay down payment and pay them when you have gotten a job. The amount is not cheap also. I would suggest you get job offers from agencies that are more reliable if you don’t mind to go through agent. Of course I feel that direct employment is the best.
Hi Amit,
I am in the insurance field and my hubby into Content Management. Both of us are in Bangalore and trying for a job in Singapore. Your article is indeed very helpful and informative. Thanks a lot for that! But now I’m totally confused and worried of who can be trusted so that we can find our way to our dream job in Singapore…All this while I was applying to all these fraud agencies! ghosh!…this article was an eye opener!!…Do you think agencies or companies would consider foreigners (without coming over to Singapore), and conduct their interviews over the phone or video conferencing?? so do we stand a chance??! if yes which agencies wud you suggest who dont charge fees? Pls do give us an idea…
Hi revz,
Most welcome and it’s great that the article was helpful. Always good to know that.
Depending on the demand for your profile and your strength as a candidate, recruiters/companies certainly do consider foreigners for roles in Singapore. Typically they will have an initial discussion via phone or video conference, and if things go well they might invite you over to Singapore for an in person meeting/interview.
A Google search should throw up a number of good recruiters who you can contact. Just stay clear of any who ask for a substantial fee.
Also have a look at our guide, which has a list of some recruiters to contact and those to avoid as well - https://www.sandboxadvisors.com/jobs-in-singapore/singapore-jobs-search
Dear all, I hope to highlight a dishonest and unethical recruitment firm, JobOne Pte Ltd. The owner, Ken Theng, also owns multiple business including YesTuition Agency. YesTuition agency has an extremely bad reputation and was convicted by the Singapore Government PDPC act, for misusing and publishing personal information! By submitting your job application to JobOne, you will never know if your personal information gets misused! I am a victim here, my personal information was misused and even fabricated and posted in their Yestuition’s website. I have written to Yestuition many times but they simply ignored me! Be careful of them!
Hi,
I am looking job in Singapore.
Not very impressed with BGC as of late. I have done temp jobs with them before with two different agents, one was pretty nice and understanding and the other was pretty aggressive. I didn’t think much since these were temp jobs I normally did and the jobs were ok,
Then there was this third agent, a guy, who was rushing for me to sign for the job right over the phone. He said he was able to secure a spot for me. I said ok, so when do you need me to come down? He said that he would email me and such to get my confirmation while ‘securing’ a spot for me. But that’s basically getting the job on the spot. I just didn’t like how pushy this was. I’ve had bad experiences whereby I was pretty much misled by another agency (starts with A) so I’d rather be there talking to you and going through the contracts to sign.
This guy told me to print the contract out, sign and send a photo to him asap. It was a Friday, and then there’s the weekends and a long holiday. I did not have a printer to print and sign the contract and wasn’t able to head down to their office (he called at 3pm) since it was last minute and I had a job elsewhere. We talked about how I should go about this for 5 minutes ish. Waste of time.
Then he said in that case we may not be able to secure a position to you and will open it up to others if you can’t. So, meaning to say that if I don’t accept his offer, he’ll look for someone else who can within the next week. Basically, he’s just rushing me. I didn’t like how pushy he was. Maybe he had quotas to meet? But then that’s scary cause agents like these don’t really care about you. I don’t trust agents who cannot be transparent with me. Just be wary of them since there are a lot of complaints about them recently.
AFORTUNADO CONSULTANCY
THEY WERE SO HELPFUL HELPING FOR MANY THINGS. I GOT BEST SERVICE FROM. AFORTUNADO CONSULTANCY

Hi,
I am looking job in Singapore. I have done my MBA & 4 yr experience in Business Development.
I have personally gone down to their office at 520 Sims Avenue #02-01 Singapore 387580 and their office is this cramp room with a make shift table and a television on. Waiting seats were placed around in the same room as the initial interview room and you are literally 5cm away from the candidate in front of you and you can well listen in to how the so-called “interviews” are being carried out. Superficial questions were asked then you will be asked to submit your CV (again?!) to them by thumbdrive (which they would have indicated for you to bring). Then the best part: you will be asked to pay this $10 for local /$20 if you are foreigner “registration fee” so that you will be placed in their fake database for employers to direct contact you. They will have you sign this form indicting hat you are paying this $10 willingly. Please do not be ignorant and attend these so-called interview sessions by Welsonn Erique Consulting or WEConsulting. BOGUS AND you can check their records on MOM Employment Agencies Search, they have not placed even one person at all. FAKE AND A TOTAL FRAUD. DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL. Fake jobs, fake posting, bogus unprofessional lady called Miru who does these lame interviews for the sake of collecting that bogus registration fee.
Thank you for this article. It’s very useful! I’ve been finding a job for quite a while and agencies have never been my option, but I just happened to come across a few that might interest some readers. Allow me to add a few comments.
Infinity – JobCom – Yes, I read several comments about this Naresh guy. NO. Just NO. Don’t waste your time, don’t go. I went 4 weeks ago and I just wasted time and money. Initially he called me and I was busy at work and was not able to pick up. When I called back, he right away asked “You never picked up, I was calling you.” Now that was very rude, but I let him talk. He asked if I can come for interview. I said let me check my schedule as I still have work that time, he rushed and told me, “ok think about it, I call after lunch.” And he just hung up.
After lunch, he called me and just casually intro-ed “so how?” I told him I might need to confirm later as I need to check my schedule. “Cannot file leave?”When I asked if their company is an agency, he couldn’t answer straight, and said “not exactly” haha
To make the long story short, innocent me, I went. I paid $20 (goodbye hard-earned $20) and he interviewed me. At first, he DID NOT REMEMBER ME and asked what job I was applying for, and he was fidgeting with a pen & paper pretending he knows what he’s doing. He then said, I did not reply to his email, when I did, I could have opened my sent items and showed it to his face. He insisted he didn’t get a reply in a condescending tone. After the interview, he told me somebody will call me after a few weeks. The job is at Central area, 3.2K, big MNC. Woah. Ok.
A week after, I called and followed up with an email just hoping there’s still humanity somewhere, but he just barked at me over the phone saying “i told you right, wait 2 weeks.” The rest is history.
AMBITION – Sad to say, I have negative reviews on this. When I got a call from Ambition, the “angmoh” sounding lady was very convincing and spoke clearly about their company and their intentions. She then sent a follow up eMail with 2 JDs and a few questions for me to answer ASAP. In her email, she then asked for me to call her back to discuss right after I read through the items. She sounded like she was rushing and so I right away replied to her email but called her first thing the next day, as she called me late in the afternoon and work was crazy.
When she picked up, of course I introduced myself and told her we spoke yesterday and checked if she has received my email reply. Goodness, she couldn’t remember at all, I understand after maybe 50 calls to her clients. She couldn’t remember me, and said she didn’t get my email and that i send her a new one. She must have been viewing her emails while we were talking, when she suddenly said, “oh wait, yes, I received it, but can you send me your CV again because I think we lost it in the system.”
what system. Hahaha she just called me 12 hours ago saying that my profile is potential for TWO possible jobs, I’m sure she was at least glancing at my CV. But I still emailed her tho and thanked her and waited for her reply. After 1 week I followed up, no reply. 2 weeks, no reply. Goodness. How unprofessional. At least say, thank you and appreciate your time wasted and say point blank that you are not selected. That’s it. But to just leave you hanging after rushing you like that, for me, is very very unprofessional.
ASPIRE GLOBAL NETWORK – This agency is better, and more sincere, but deals mainly with senior applicants for mainly media, advertising, etc. Just be ready for their long and typical interviews with questions like, “strengths, weaknesses, 5 years from now, what makes you stand out” you know the drill. But just go and explore, this place is Ok. 🙂
To wrap it up, let me just say that Singapore is a really great place to build a career and a great avenue to work on your goals and dreams. But let’s just always be wary of unprofessional people / agencies taking advantage of job seekers; and value our savings and hard-earned money. If agencies are starting to talk “money” and deviating from the ideal, sole intention supposedly, to HELP, then run. Just RUN.
Take care and God bless!

Actually I do not have very good experience with BGC too. I tried applying for a 2 mths temp job with BGC, stating that I only wanted office-bounded job. I know that it might be a bit hard to find such a job in 2 mths (have similar experience of being conned by recruit express to go down to sign form but got no reply) thus I explained my situation to the consultant. The consultant keep saying “yes, we have plenty of such jobs for you” and asked me down to fill in the form. ONLY after I went down and have the form signed, then they “changed” their words and said “Sorry, but given that you only have 2 months, though we have many such jobs, it is too short and so is hard for us to find a office-bounded job that matches your availability period — need at leat 3-4 months”. Then, I was wondering, why lie to me and ask me come down, in the end is just a wasted trip.
Achieve group is REALLY bad! This is my story. My job job was $7.50/hr and I clocked about 9-11hours a day, I was expecting about 1.4kish gross, 13xx net.
However on the first payday, 29ish or 7th of the month, I only received around $900. When I called up to clarify, my agent said he didn’t know what to do, okay so I asked if there was anyone else, he referred me to finances and the lady told me I only earned $1.1k for that month ( Luckily I had timesheet and timecard ).
Then the best part was when she told me ” You know we’re on half-day today right? ” WHAT? Seriously? You fail to pay me properly and turn it around like it was my fault for calling on a half day?
So after awhile she told me ” Oh sorry I didn’t see the excel sheet properly, I forgot to pay you 42hours “.
42hours is almost a week for most people.
TL;DR : DO NOT GO FOR ACHIEVE! BAD AGENCY TO GO FOR.
It’s still me, the one that commented on your article THE TRUTH ABOUT JOBS IN SINGAPORE FOR FOREIGNERS. Until now, I don’t have any jobs as of yet, but there was a progress. I was shortlisted by 2 recruitment agencies: GLOBAL RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY (GRC) for a telemarketing job under CITI CREATIONS (I’m still in the process of checking this info, though I can’t seem to find this company to which they are applying me in) and R & G BUSINESS SOLUTIONS for a service crew post at a certain establishment (which I was able to see and confirm). I just have few concerns that I want to confirm with you as soon as possible. One, the salary offer for the telemarketing post is for S$1200 and for the service crew post it’s for S$1300. Second,I think the agency fees are too high compared to what will be getting for the salary. The agency fee for GRC is $300 for the pass application. Once approved another $1700 and then there’s this $2000 fee that will be paid within 4 months (total of S$4000). As for R&G it is for $300. If approved for a 1 yr pass it will cost another $1850, for 2 yrs it’s $3350. Third, that would be the company legitimacy. I was able to see GRC at the MOM site but I wasn’t able to see any details online for the company they are endorsing. As for R&G, I can’t seem to see them at the MOM site but I know that the establishment they are endorsing me to is legit. Lastly, would be the long term goal and transition. I’m thinking of getting the offer for the service crew job just to have another experience in my resume, but based on the people I have spoken with, it will be hard from me to transition back to my original field which is under the BPO/CALL CENTER/BANKING industry. I can only revolve around the food and beverage/service crew field once I started working in the said industry. With the market now for foreigners, it’s lucky that I was shortlisted. But is it worth it? If I decline both offers, would I still have another shot for an offer or would it be better off to just get the job and deal with it… hoping to get your insights about this Sir Amit as soon as you can…Thanks again for all the advice on your previous articles.
Too bad I saw this late. Sorry. NEVER go to GR Consultancy, it’s a scam. They will refer you to a company and get hired, they’ll have your money then. But that company is their accomplice, so they will tell you your employment pass request was denied. Then, there goes your money.
GR consultancy are really scam???
I just received a call and email from Naresh from Infinity Jobcom…i’ve decided not to go as i feel that the interview place is so far away…and also i forgot that my washing machine is coming in tomorrow…so i have to postpone the interview tomorrow…suddenly it struck my mind about recruitment agencies…as i received a call from Caprica before and they said that they will have to take 1st pay from me for registration if they offered me a job…so i decided to look thru google about Infinity Jobcom…if this is how it looks…i’m thankful i came across this forum…also i wanna add about MCI consulting…i went to a job interview after they recommended me a job..the person’s name is Kian as he says…did not have to go down to their office for interview…but was told to go straight to the company they offered….so i went…but i didnt know that the company says its a 5.5 days work…which i already highlighted in the phone conversation with the recruiter that i only want a 5 days work….i’ve worked 5.5 days jobs before…but after a while landed on two other jobs which are 5 days work…now i’m more comfortable with 5 days jobs….he told me that the company is ok with 5 days work….so i was confused…went home and tried to contact him the next day to ask….no response…he responded 2 days later after i asked him again…and said he checked with the company…but still waiting for reply…and till now…i received no answers from him…but after 2 days of no response from him after our last contact….of course i went to call the company myself (thinking…maybe its not that bad to just work 5.5 days as the company is not that far from home…)….turns out…they filled up the position i went to interview for…i felt really down after that…..sigh….
What I thought about it, is the recruitment agencies now a days couldn’t be fully trusted. And if you think is trustworthy to only depends on the agencies filtering then you will not see so many unemployed people looking around for a suitable jobs?! Although employers preferred to engage through them because its already well filtered? save time and money. Really? I don’t agree Thats not the case. Why? What if you hired someone within a year and leave the company? The company will have to go through the procedure to hire again? The recruitment agencies depends on the jobseekers no matter what. Oh yeah.. Which includes the main employers as well. Without the jobseeker the company itself won’t exist. They (agents) are just eager to close case and just get their commission.
I’m a job seeker myself and I came to experience a few recently? Some just goes direct insult verbally and some are just RUDE. I came across 2 recent one I wana say, One achieve grp that most of you says and the other was robert half. What a shame.
My impression of RH was pretty good before until I met this woman S.K. that was being introduced by my initial liaising agent name of R.R. (short form) due to his upcoming vacation. I have no problem with communicating with people around me. But this incident in the end didn’t went well.
I was indeed being blacklisted in that organisation for rejecting the interview beforehand. The interview was on the next day physically. I received a call from the agent together with the arrangement of the interview after my consent.
So initially I agreed to go ahead because I TRUSTED what she BRIEFLY described and after she arranged the interview she then agreed to send me the company profile. So I read, apparently I found out it doesn’t suits my preferences at all! considering she was not frank and straightforward, hidden agendas.
Then immediately I return an email to her saying “I would like to cancel this interview, sincerely apologised for that etc..”
Now we all have the rights to make decision for my future career path. YOU do not “force” me to go into a company which I’m not comfortable in. So the next thing the agent called and of course I picked up, I was listening to what she was saying at first, you will lose the opportunity and stuff like that.. Yes I uds.
Thus, I told her I would love to choose my job wisely and part of my reasons for rejecting the interview and the next thing I started hearing insulting words, unfriendly, argumentative tones. Which I tried to tame that moment down but it was not getting any better. She REFUSED to listen. Self boosting in her own words, insisted that I have to go for this interview. So the last resort I have to hang up this phone. It’s meaningless to continue this conversation, the only thing you will get is tongue-lashing by rejecting her arrangement.. And this why I got blacklisted for not being professional by hanging up her phone. How can we blacklist this people who is being rude, impolite, unappreciative, choleric people too? Is there anyway? I would love to blacklist those who ill-treat or discriminate people’s status and I would also wants to take this to a personal level too. Because they blacklist people as and when they like without a specific evident reasons. I felt shit for them!

I have to say that the person behind IT Force, isn’t so bad. They’re very reasonable and understanding when it comes to reimbursing me on some taxi expenses such as when I had to have very early conference calls with New Zealand clients and no public transport was available during that time. Only thing is that there were some times that the salary did come in late, due to clients not paying on time. It’s more of cash-flow struggles of being a startup, I think. *shrug*
BGC is the worst and does not keep their words and right now I’m very pissed with them! Please try to stay away from them or be very cautious before signing any contract with them.. Let me tell you about my experience with them.. About 2 and the half months ago I posted an ads online looking for a dental assistant job because both of my aunties are working under dental assistant line and that got me interested. So I got few replies and sent my resume to them and get an interview date from different dental but then I got another call from someone the next day asking whether I still looking for that position and I said yes and the person arrange a time for me to come down their office at Raffles Place. At that point of time I didn’t know that they are from an agency. So since they arrange the earliest date and time, I decided to come down their office at Raffles and meet them in the morning and still have time to go for my other interview after lunch time (that’s what I plan at first).
Once there, I noticed BGC Group logo and I know this must be an agency but to be double confirm I ask the guy and indeed it is.. So this guy refer me to his colleague who is a girl and she did all the interview and will do the job searching for me and assure that there is no agency cost so that I won’t be worry. She said she will call me tomorrow if there is any job openning and she seems to be nice and polite. After I left the office, I decided to go and have an early lunch since it’s only 12noon and will be on my way for my other interview at greenlife dental (direct company). While I was waiting for the train, I received a call from the BGC agency and told me that there is a job opening at Q&M dental and told me to go for the interview at 2pm which is the same timing for my other interview! I told her I can’t make it as I have other interview to attend and die2 ask me to go and said that if I don’t go by today the job won’t be available tomorrow.. She keeps on saying its good dental and I will get immediate answer from them if Im selected or not and blah3 just to convince me to go for the interview and told me that the HR will be expecting me. So in the end I cancel my other interview and went for the Q&M interview instead.
Once I reached there, the Q&M HR is clueless and told me that there is no job opening! What the hell?!!! I keep on telling them that the agency sent me here and I have to cancel my other appointment since she told me that she have arrange for the interview and that the HR is expecting me. So to cut it short, the bloody agency keep on texting me every few mins asking about the interview eventhough the interview takes longer.. Finally I got the job and inform the agency about it and guess what?? She told me to go back to her office to get some paper sign eventhough I already told her that Im tired!
So anyway, I went down and she have a huge smile on her face and keeps on congrats me on the job. She prepared some paper for me and ask me to read, but halfway reading, she keeps on pointing to the page I have to sign and urge me to sign first and continue reading it later. So I did what she say without second thought. After signing, she explain about the contract and that I need to work in Q&M dental for at least 6 months and if any case I face any difficulty in the job and decided to resign, I must at least stay until 3 months and she will help to find another job for me.. (Ya RIGHT!)
Right now I have been working at Q&M for almost to 3 months by this end of this month and it’s been tired as hell! My working timing is not what it seems on the board and always end up working more then my shift suppose to be. Every week I have 2 days where I work 12 hours shift which is on wed and sat. Every wed I have to go to other outlet to work to help out but its fine with me as it’s not busy and I got to go back in time but during sat shift I have to work in my own outlet which it worst! it’s not only busy as hell and Im the only person there to assist the dental surgeon and to make the matter worst, I always end up working more then 12 hours with no dinner break! There is one time where I work from 9am to 12 midnite! What the hell?!! I told them that this is too much and I can’t take it! They said I have no choice and that they cant do anything about it. I called the agency and told my situation and that I cant take it anymore, they told me to stay at least 3 months and that she will help me find other job with irritating tone! Last week I tried to call but no one pick up and i text the agency informing them that I wanted to resign since Im going to 3 months by this end of Jan 14 and that I really cant take it anymore.. Until now, they ignore my calls and texts and I didnt received any respond from them! I told my guy about it and he is not happy and urge me to go down to the agency to talk and see the contract again since I they dont give me a copy of it. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST AND THE LAST AND I WOULD NEVER TRUST BGC AGENCY!!!!

Good post. I like it.
Currently I am a part-time student finding a temporary job. Any suggestions for part-time or temporary jobs in admin/data-entry/call centre agents ?
From my experience with RE agency, it was the worst!
I went to RE last few weeks for their interviews but seriously it was not much of help at all. The interviewers told me to wait for their calls but alas they didn’t called me. Okay that’s fine. Hence, I didn’t gave up in finding jobs through the agency.
I sent a few resumes again and finally this guy, Daniel from RE called me up. He talked harshly and very rude(singlish). No phone etiquette at all. If I am not interested in working shifts of a customer service officer, do not have to slam the phone after he ended the conversation.
Before that, he was desperately asking me to go for the job. Even he didn’t told me off from the phone but from his tone I already knew what he was hinting on. No way! After that incident, I don’t like RE at all.
I am a HR professional currently having the poorest of luck to work with Allegis Talent 2. They are servicing my company and could not lived to the reputation of being top 4 RPO globally. The onsite team is extremely rude, ignorant and most of the time, you cannot reach anyone for help. Hiring managers and employees alike suffer when no one is picking up the line or responding to emails. And when they do is to insist that they are here to build relationships but not the actual work. They are really expensive (we used another agency MNC too and they are much cheaper), inadequate and do not know their job scope. & the best part, the account director (just a functional title) is very rude, and is not consultative and often caught her at the desk, cleaning her nails or messing with her mobile phone. So not just job seekers suffer, as HR we get the short end too from agencies. I will never recommend AT2 for employment seeking or candidate search. Total waste of money and space
I happen to chance upon this website and it provides great information on job agencies. I also encountered one bad incident with this agency called “De-Factors Consultants”
Initially the agent was fast in responding to my application – took a day to respond. I was thinking this is pretty good, and the agent wanted me to fill up an online application form stating my qualification. When I reached the agency the next day, the agent asked me to pass her my certs and stuff for scanning. After a while, the agent came in, and the first thing she asked, “what is my qualification?” I was thinking, “hey i wrote that in my CV, fill it in the online application and pass your my cert for scanning, and you’re asking me what is my qualification? She is working blindly!” Then the agent asked me what job I am keen in. I replied I am okay with most jobs EXCEPT sales, AP and AR related jobs.
Then on the online application, there is a question asked if I allowed references to be called. I clicked no. Now the agent told me IT IS A MUST TO CLICK YES as my response. I was unhappy because I was given an option of whether or not to allow them to call a reference. Now everything is forced!
Thirdly, the agent offered me a job that was completely irrelevant to my course. I graduated with a banking and finance degree but was offered a shipping company job. In the end, I got sarcastic remarks from the employer saying I’m not suitable for this job due to my qualification and still wanted to apply for such a job. After the interview, I had to call the agent about my statue. Couldn’t the agent called themselves?
Few days later, the same agent called me and asked if I was keen in AP and AR jobs. I rebuked to them that I already mentioned that I AIN’T keen in these kind of jobs. And the agent asked me if I gotten an interview or not. I said “of course I have, and in fact I have pending offers!” (the agent wanted to rebuke that I am one fussy candidate! but could not as I told them that I had offers) and then asked me once again what field I am keen! She further added on that “I thought you say you wanted to work in AP and AR jobs”. I was completely pissed off, and decided to ignore the agent!
Whoever is reading this, just to advise you, avoid this agency. Their service is terrible.
I am a job seeker. But that doesn’t means they can be so unprofessional, closing deals and ignore what job seekers want!
Please avoid this company “De-Factors Consultants”!!!!
I also agree to Erin’s comment regarding tcc group, you get your pay by collecting at their office, which is usually on a work day. Most of the time, the cue is extremely long and most of the time they make mistakes on your pay by putting you on unpaid leave when you were actually on annual leave. When you make complaints about this issue, it appears that you make their lives difficult but they fail to see that you sacrificed your no absent incentive just to get your low monthly wage which takes more than a month for you to receive. And you work for their client company that can easily reject you without giving proper reason as to why, even if you have performed to the best of your abiliites. They do not appreciate your good work ethics, they just need to see that you are there for the alloted schedule, do what their client company asks of you (and the client staff are very unforgiving once they know you are a tcc employee).
everyone please beware of WE consulting (Welsonn Erique consulting). it is a complete SCAM, they post FAKE job ads to get you to sign up and pay them registration fee and tell you they will pass your resume to employer. In reality, there is NO SUCH JOB and you can be waiting for months, years before there is job vacancy. Completely unethical and unscrupulous. even worse, the boss, Welsonn, does not think he is doing anything wrong and continues such practices.
DO NOT USE THEIR APP GRABJOBS. it is useless, full of bugs, and get people to register by posting fake job ads on gumtree. ads on the app are dummy ads created by the company. No real jobs there.
they have recently been in trouble with ministry of manpower (MOM) over complaints so please do not be another victim. Do not support any of their other apps, GrabJobs or EngageMi. such agencies deserve to be implicated by the law for such unethical, unscrupulous and unprincipled practices.

However, they said that it will take sometime to.investigate. I hope all of us can go to MOM and follow up again of what happened, and that two shit companies need to be punished and they need return our money.
straits times article - https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/manpower/foreigners-file-police-reports-over-jobs-that-did-not-materialise
I filed complaints against ASIA RECRUIT PTE.LTD. AND UUBR INTERNATIONAL PTE to STB “STB Feedback (STB)” . The detail is as follow:
Dear sir/ madam
I am DAU QUOC HUAN (FIN:G3114515K, Passport: B7618365) I would like to file complaints against ASIA RECRUIT PTE.LTD. and UUBR INTERNATIONAL PTE for cheating me SGD $290 and SGD $180 respectively.
ASIA RECRUIT PTE.LTD owned by Terry Tan and Kasthuri Angeline with the Licence number 15C7504 UUBR INTERNATIONAL PTE. (Registration number: 201527952H) located at 1 RAFFLES PLACE, #20-00, ONE RAFFLES PLACE, SINGAPORE (048616) (Please refer to attached file: UBBR INTERNATIONAL PTE LTD) I came across ASIA RECRUIT on:https://www.stjobs.sg/employer/premium/asiarecruit.
There were many posts by them with lucrative salary and the statement:” ALL ARE WELCOME” or “OPEN TO ALL NATIONALITIES”. Their company licence and contact number (65) 96211231 were put on the website as well. Attracted by the opportunity I contacted the mentioned mobile number. I was asked to come to their office at Raffles Place to submit my resume, qualification and personal information. I came to their office on Friday 4 Dec 2015. The person who received my document was an Indian girl name Angeline, she explained to me that I need to deposit SGD$290 for them to secure an interview for me. This amount is 100% refundable whether I can or cannot get the job. If I am successful in getting the job I only need to pay them 1 month of my salary. It sounded very reasonable to me. After paying them SGD$290, I asked for a receipt to which they replied they would send the e-receipt to my email address. Trusting their word, I went back home to check my email just to discover the e-receipt they sent me got one small clause “Payment made is final and strictly non-refundable” (Please refer to the attached file: ASIA RECRUIT INVOICE). Immediately I wrote the email to them to query about it but they didn’t reply (on Friday 4 Dec 2015). As their office closed on Saturday, I came to see Angeline on Monday morning 7 Dec 2015 to ask her to clarify about the non-refundable clause in the e-invoice. She said it was the mishap, an error and promised me the amount is 100% refundable.
She told me there was one company received my resume and would like to conduct an interview with me on Thursday 10 Dec 2015. Three days later I went to the interview at UUBR INTERNATIONAL PTE at 11.30am. The company located at Raffle Tower with a splendid outlook. There was one young, beautiful European girl stand at the door to greet all the interviewee. I was interviewed by 2 Singaporean who dressed very professionally. The interview went smoothly as I prepared very carefully before hand. At the end of the interview, they said I was chosen for the job with a monthly salary SGD$3300. They would help me to apply pass to MOM. In the meanwhile I need to go for training. They ask me to pay SGD$180 for training reservation slot and SGD$650 for the program fee immediately. They said these amounts are 100% refundable whether MOM approves my pass application. I paid them SGD$180 for the training reservation slot to which they gave me the receipt with non-refundable clause on top (Please refer to the attached file: Receipt SGD180). I didn’t have enough money to pay SGD$650 for the program fee. They agreed to give me time to go back home to take money to pay them before 5pm.
Suspect that it may be a hoax for they left me so little time to decide. I went online to do a quick check on this company and discovered there were many people were cheated by them (Please refer to the attached file: ASIA RECRUIT cheat cases 1 and 2). I quickly went back to their companies to ask back the money I paid them to which they didn’t entertain me at all. Despite various times I came down to their office, they kept refusing to return back the deposit amount.
Talking with the security officers of their companies, they also said they knew that these 2 companies are cheaters and asked me to report to the police. Every day they see many people come to ask for the deposit but to no avail. ASIA RECRUIT and UUBR INTERNATIONAL only target foreigners for they only have a very short time to stay in Singapore to file any case against them. I also discovered that their staffs do not use the real name. When I asked for their detail to make a police report they totally ignore the request.
Please kindly take a close look to these 2 companies to stop them from cheating people and get back the money for us. They are such professional cheating companies.
Thank you.
Regards
Dau Quoc Huan
Let us send more report to STB as they need to see more cases to take action against these 2 companies.
Hi Tran0031, indeed - SCAMMERS asia recruit pte ltd, uubr and asiajobmart are owned by same people - Terry Tan Chenxu Yusi and Angline Kasthuri. we have reported the same to police. Also - Pls report this scam to mom via mom_fmmd@mom.gov.sg and go to police station. similar story - https://www.allsingaporestuff.com/article/asia-recruit-pte-ltd-scam-recruitment-agent-join-your-own-peril
Hello Dau Quoc Huan!
I found the same situation as you. I have tried to contact UUBR both e-mail and phone, but there were no answer. I have paid UUBR $180 for the registration fee and $650 which is refundable. The girl at UUBR who claimed that she is a hiring manager told me that if I paid $650, I will get an employment contract and I have to attend the orientation at People’s park complex. Everything went fine! After an orientation, an Indian (or Srilankan) girl asked me to fill in an Employment Pass application form. She said the company would start applying after 5 days of an orientation and will send an e-mail to me within 7-14 days.
I attended the orientation on Dec 1, 2015 and until now I haven’t received any responses from them.
Did you report to MOM? And what is the feedback? Please share 🙂
Thanks!

my email add tholits82@yahoo.com,
Please note that asia recruit has closed down. They are now using only asia job mart. Also there is no more uubr. The office in one raffles place also closed down. They moved to singapore land tower level 30 (also located at rafless place mrt) by also changing their company name as connectsia pte ltd.
One of my friend had fallen sick and even fainted at airport upon returning to phillipine knowing that she will not get her money back. There is no point going to MOM, they will not do anything. Lets all go to high court as a group so government will regard this as a scam.
Asia recruit pte ltd scam has a new name - Alliance Recruit Pte Ltd.
UUBR pte ltd is now called Connectsia Pte Ltd.
Looks like Terry Chenxu and his team are rebranding their scam.
Hi,
Same thing happened to me. But now they changed their office and moved to Chinatown (People’s Park Complex #04-17, Singapore 059108). Looks like when a lot of people start going down to ask for the money, they change their location. Would like to know if you get any good news or you got your money back.
Tran0031 it’s easy just go to state court. pay 20dollars and bring all documents file the complain.
The court wud give u a date and Terry has to attend and refund.
I taught my friend and it works.
ASIA RECRUIT PTE. LTD.
Licence # 15C7504
is a scam. Owned by Terry Tan and Kasthuri Angeline.
search the agency in mom’s website - https://services.mom.gov.sg/eadirectory/
Asia recruit pte ltd mainly uses stjobs.sg as their platform to capture foreign applicants. if all of us would contact stjobs.sg about this scam, they might stop publishing their job ads. I appeal to each victim to write to stjobs.sg..
thanks.
Pls report the asia recruit pte ltd scam to stjobs.sg. if they can remove this scammer from their site it will help a lot of people.
Hello kara did you make complain about this to MOM already?

Pls report this to stjobs.sg as well. i hope they will stop publishing their job ads.
Hi Ebele is this Asia recruit your saying is the one located @ peoples park complex? What company they help u with? Did u heard about Uubr? Thanks a lot!
They cheating people
BGC is horrible. Entice you to come for interviews that probably never exist, shamelessly break promises over and over again. Say will call back but never call back. Came up with excuses after excuses. Suggest other jobs other than what you have been looking for probably because those jobs probably never exist in the first place. Appeared very friendly but after they got what they want, they change their attitude and may even ignore you. Those people working there ought to feel ashamed of themselves. Please don’t go there. You have been warned.
Why the fake recruiting agencies do not cheat to local employers? Why they are cheating innocent job seekers?
Do they incur any type of fees?
Hi sir@mdm im nur im malaysian girl last 4 years before i work in spore. Coz i did wrong until now i never try find spore job…dear sir pls help to get job in spore pls im from poor femily pls help me
This is really interesting. I’m currently a job seeker and accidentally came across this page, and I also found this page and so shocked to see that RE is the best or most preferred recruiter :
https://www.humanresourcesonline.net/10-preferred-recruitment-agencies/
Having to read all the comment from this website, RE shouldn’t be the best, but the worst?
Hi everyone!
Have you heard about Edmund Seetoh of Credential Employment & Consultancy? He’s a very eager matured man. Last sunday, he really called me to discuss about my job application even if it’s already 10:30 in the evening. Then came Tuesday and asked me to meet him at tana merah mrt. I was hesitant then coz when I tried to search for the agency’s address, it’s at beach road area. I still met him at tana merah taxi stand then but he only interviewed me inside his car. Came Thursday and he said he found a job for me and will negotiate with the employer not to have an interview with me anymore. After that, if it’s okay with the employer, he will already process my working permit but need to pay $500 deposit. He said it’s refundable if it gets rejected. However, he will deduct the fees that were incurred during the processing. Now I’m confused if I’m going to pursue with this agent as I was really having odd feelings about him right from the start. What if he’ll just run away the money? But what if he’s also legit? Seeking for your advice guyz. Thank you.
everyone please beware of WE consulting (Welsonn Erique consulting). it is a complete SCAM, they post FAKE job ads to get you to sign up and pay them registration fee and tell you they will pass your resume to employer.
Not sure whether you guys heard of this “Singapore jobs market” managed by a company called AICG Pte Ltd?
On the 23rd July 2015 , I saw a advertisement wanting to hire admin assistant at $2500 and it states “All are welcome” , interested applicants will need to sms their name to this mobile number: 92717889. So I sms to that number. I got a response saying: “Pls attend walk in interview from Mon-Sat 2pm-4pm @ 10 Anson Rd #18-17 Int’l Plaza Bldg , S(079903) Near Tanjong Pagar MRT ,exit I. Refundable $50 Reg Fee (Nets/Cash only) .No Agent fee , free SPass/EP Application. Foreigners welcome other jobs available. Do Not Reply”
In my mind i thought this is a advertisement to employ admin staff ? How come i still need to pay a $50 registration fee if they want to recruit a admin staff ?
I made a trip down to their office on the same day (23rd July2015) and i got a rude shock , the person in charge ask me for the reasons why i left my last job and after that he started to ask for a payment which i thought will be only $50 as per the sms msg , but to my shock he quoted its US$200 , he uses the exchange rate of US$1 = S$1.35 , he deducted a total of S$270 from my NETS card. He verbally told me that in the event if my job application is not successful , the company will refund me the money i have paid to them.
After i left their office , I took a quick look at the official receipt which i was issued , again i get a rude shock when i read the terms & conditions. (Especially the very 1st one)
(1) All cancellations are non refundable. Refund is only applicable if you have used up all purchased credits & you did not receive any response & resume views after 7 working days. - (My goodness when i saw the first terms & conditions , in my mind i was thinking if i had uploaded my resume , I am pretty sure that companies who wish to recruit staffs will definitely need to look at the candidate’s resume & how could it be that there will not be any single view?) it will only be fair to say candidate did not get any response despite there are views of his/her resume by companies.
(2) I agree to pay Singaporejobsmarket.com an inconvenience fee of no less than S$1000 if a police case if lodged against me for causing distress to the staffs or disrupting the business or breaching terms and conditions herein.
(3) All online payments made using debit or credits cards are subject to additional 5% tax and all payments are in US$. ( is the company allowed to collect the additional 5% tax??)
(4) no redund if you can’t produce original receipt and the completed refund application form with the required deposit. Deposit amt is subject to change without prior notice. (this clause is a bit strange , since earlier on when money had been collected from us , why do we still need to pay a deposit fee first before they could process our refund? something is not very right here , i just feels this clause is super illogical to me , although the refund form did state its refundable deposit)
(5) any refund enquiries in the office without prior appointment will not be entertained in the event we are unable to attend to your refund enquiries , we reserve all rights to reschedule your appointment. Failure to comply to the schedule may result in legal actions against you. (this clause is unfair to job seekers too as if the person is busy unable to attend to the said scheduled appointment , legal action might be taken against the job seeker who is seeking a refund ?)
(6) Singaporejobsmarket.com is a wholly web based job portal and you are required to purchase credits in order to use its web based recruitment services without any human intervention. (JOBS DB , JOBS STREET , ST JOBS they are all web based neither one require us to pay to use their services.)
(7) our service do not guarantee interviews and jobs as we are only marketing your resume to potential employers and recruiters in Singapore Response will vary for each individual. (Yes agree that by using this service it does not translate to securing interviews and jobs , but neither JOBS DB ,JOB STREET & ST JOBS guarantee us this but the point is they did not make us pay a single cent for the marketing of our resume to potential employers and companies who is trying to recruit staffs)
(8) refund policy is subject to change without prior notice and management decision is final.
Like to hear your views guys !
i went there too, same experience here. Have you even tried to visit there office after a week? Were you able to get a refund of your money.
I went there too and had the same experience. The man in charge told me that the 300SGD is refundable after 7days if I did not successfully get a job.He did not mention anything about the “views” and other conditions written in the receipt. I tried to apply for refund. I am currently working on it but I have a negative vibe that I cannot avail it. There are a lot of conditions and even the refund process has a condition that there should be 50SGD deposit?!
I also went to this agency & surprisingly the guy I met is in shorts & only used a coat to be presentable. I also paid 300 sgd via nets. This is ridiculous because you cant get a refund if there is a resume view on your profile.
BAD IMAGE, BAD CONSULTANTS – RECRUIT EXPRESS
First time in my life, I encounter the Worst, Rude and Horrible Consultants in Recruit Express. They were very UNPROFESSIONAL.
To my opinion, To be a Consultant in any recruit agencies, they must be polite, humble and reasonable towards their clients. But what I notice here they have no sense of humanlity. Speaking without manner, threathening their clients, harrasing, giving sarcastic remarks and etc…
I strictly emphasise to the HR or HOD of Recruit Express to take this matter into consideration and action to these Rude Consultants because some are not fit to be one. Please check their background.
Thank you.

Hi,
Just your average Jane/Joe dropping from personal experience in here.
Hoping to be able to share and advise any potential job seekers out there to NOT look for this agency recruitment BGC.
I was job hunting around different sites and sending out my resumes through jobst or local sites that put up job offers. But apparently, all those false advertisement they’re at least more then 80% is put up by those job recruitment agencies. Looking for job seekers to throw out their information and resumes out there so as they could easily retrieve them, called up to the MAIN company that posted the REAL advertisement in order to arrangement a under ground deal / agreement under a lawful contract and take a % of your pay until your contract expires. So, next day I got over 10 calls from the same company BGC, trying to harass me and throwing out personal question-ares off my resumes even though its completely unrelated to my job and field. And they even try to get me sign up for some low billing job offer which of course, I rejected them all based off its too under paying for my qualification.
Then there’s one potential offer which I willingly accepted and went for their job interview. But do note that, whatever the agency has brief me about the job scope and when I went for the actual interview. It is a total different story and BS. Apparently even the agency themselves is clueless and not informed well off the job scope, what I was told during the interview is entirely a different story. Not only to that, I’ve spend the night preparing a whole grand speech of what to say for the interview and when I went for it, the interviewer did not even bother to ask me anything.
But to put things aside, I still decide to take up upon the job offer. Because it was the misinform problem between the agency and company. Everything went okay and well, later that night I got a call from the same person from the agency again, he was like BS me about how I was the higher chance of recruitment in candidate and potentially the better choice among the other applications as he would like to pass on my resume and proceed with the “paper work procedure” process. He assured me that he will handle “all the paperwork” and I need not worry. I give him the yes even though a part of me still have a tons of doubts and it sounds too good to be true.
Because firstly, I did not willingly approached a agency out of my own will, but rather they took my resume through the job site I have send which, I thought it was from the actual company. I decide to pluck up my courage in order to clear my doubts, I started questioning him about how all the agency, paper work, how the payment will be under going through.
The consultant, on the other hand did not seem to be happy when about my esquires and only gave me a brief one-word answer.
Then the consultant started to call me back 3 times asking me if he should give it a day and from his voice tone, he seems unwillingly to not hand in my resume or proceed through the paper work.
Like WTH? So are they trying to amplify that I do not have the right to question whatever things that I am signing up for??
That I should not even ask about how all their under table “arrangement’ deals is being done??
Like how much % you’re leeching out from my hard earned salary where all you lazy-ass consultant just sitting around all day only calling up people that’s all??
Hell-NO. So after the call, the rude consultant, his name is Ronald Tan did not get back to me regarding the job or whatever.
But I am no fool myself to wait for that agency to recall back either, apparently before him I went through several other interviews and apparently after a week, I accepted and got a better job offer with a much better pay then what that rude agent have been trying to sign me up the s***t for. Even to now, the agency have not gotten back to me, I assumed that he trashed out my application without my consent and tried to brush me off by throwing excuses that my application is still “under going through the paper work procedure”.
So point taken and to all the job seekers out there, the best way is to seek the job yourself and go directly to the company’s website to register.
Do not try to relay on those agencies, they’re just a bunch of rude hypocrites that would judge you no matter what you do. Get the newspaper, look out for job advertisements. You earned your own pay, other people have no right to take % commission off from you, unless you are that handicapped enough to not be bother to fill in the online applications or do those simple procedures yourself.
I don’t think any other agency is worst than Zenith Infotech. They are very rude, crafty and very unprofessional. Still they eat from our salaries and do not show any respect for that. It reminds me the days I work at India before migrate to Singapore.
I felt shit for them!
i have a few questions in mind, i hope you could respond. anyway, is pursuing an agency for job hunt a better idea for us jobseekers??? i have plans of visiting singapore in june. and i’d be willing to spend a sum of money for an agency. knowing it would save me more time to look for a job and will increase my chances of booking one as what my friend suggests. the school i graduated from is recognized by the ministry of manpower in sg. and i have at least 3 years of job experience in the customer service area etc. im also a licensed nurse but no plans to pursue my career as a nurse though. however, my friend tells me it’s not a good idea to visit and look for a job in may or june because of the election? is this true? he also says that the ministry of manpower in sg has already reached its quota for the application of an s-pass and that policies will be changed during those times? so, will going this june be a disadvantage for us jobseekers? and is spending for an agency worth it, helpful and more of an advantage for jobseekers? thanks
hello there i just want to.share with you this as you said above your friend told you about the s-pass quota is reached the limit and all that’s not true coz there is no such thing as the s-pass quota us full for foreigners. it’s depend on the companies where you apply for job as they have the quota or not I think you should five out a try.all the best
“I have taken up numerous job assignments from Adecco and from my experience, I did not see a cut in my salary and neither did they require a fee for using their service.”
“If you are looking for a job, go for the reputable ones such as Adecco, Kelly Services and Manpower. Agencies that are in the Global Fortune 500 are even more trusted.”
“I do have a personal friend who got a job through Adecco agency and very happy with her current job with good pay and no need to work long hours too.”
“Although they are my competitors, i must say that they do have a very good reputation and till now i’m impressed with their service.”
“I have good experience with Adecco. Few years back, I got a job with a US MNC through Adecco recommendation and my pay is the same as those who were recruited directly by the MNC”
“Adecco and Kelly Services not bad”
“i have been to Kelly, Adecco & GMP. All 3 provide good service to me.”
“The person who spoke to me is well-mannered and explained patiently to me”
I have personally gone down to their office at 520 Sims Avenue #02-01 Singapore 387580 and their office is this cramp room with a make shift table and a television on.
I just received a call and email from Naresh from Infinity Jobcom…i’ve decided not to go as i feel that the interview place is so far away…and also i forgot that my washing machine is coming in tomorrow…so i have to postpone the interview tomorrow…suddenly it struck my mind about recruitment agencies…as i received a call from Caprica before and they said that they will have to take 1st pay from me for registration if they offered me a job…so i decided to look thru google about Infinity Jobcom…if this is how it looks…i’m thankful i came across this forum…also i wanna add about MCI consulting…i went to a job interview after they recommended me a job..the person’s name is Kian as he says…did not have to go down to their office for interview…but was told to go straight to the company they offered….so i went…but i didnt know that the company says its a 5.5 days work…which i already highlighted in the phone conversation with the recruiter that i only want a 5 days work….i’ve worked 5.5 days jobs before…but after a while landed on two other jobs which are 5 days work…now i’m more comfortable with 5 days jobs….he told me that the company is ok with 5 days work….so i was confused…went home and tried to contact him the next day to ask….no response…he responded 2 days later after i asked him again…and said he checked with the company…but still waiting for reply…and till now…i received no answers from him…but after 2 days of no response from him after our last contact….of course i went to call the company myself (thinking…maybe its not that bad to just work 5.5 days as the company is not that far from home…)….turns out…they filled up the position i went to interview for…i felt really down after that…..sigh….
what are you trying to say at the end, is caprica is good agency or not?
IMO, i’m not comfortable with anyone taking my first paycheck for registration purposes..good or not, i guess that’s for u to decide..for me, it’s not…
I also agree to Erin’s comment regarding tcc group, you get your pay by collecting at their office, which is usually on a work day.
I got a call from we consulting, and I had an interview tomorrow, do you think this agency is legit? or any ideas about this? do you have any feedbacks with regards to your application?
I just just got a letter from RE asking me to pay a sum for breaching the agreement. I am curios to know what if i ignore it and not pay the amount.
any suggestion pls
I am also a job seeker here in Singapore just like many Filipinos here trying their luck in landing a job here. My cousin and I tried to use the services of agencies here since our stay here is nearing an end and we need to exit either Malaysia or Indonesia. We saw the ad of ASIA RECRUIT PTE LTD. on job websites here saying ALL NATIONALITIES WELCOME TO APPLY. Wow right??? A prayer answered, we have a chance to find a job.. So we emailed our resume and after a day the agency emailed us to go to their office in Chinatown for an interview. So we did.. when we got there we were slapped with a $180 fee for marketing which will be returned if after a week they did not find a job for us. Sounds fair atleast we only have to wait for a week, told them we will think it over first.. the next day we decided to give it a go.. so we paid the $180 marketing fee, they gave us a receipt.. after that they told us that we will sign an agreement regarding their fee. Upon reading the agreement it was stipulated there that when they found us an employer we have to pay them $800 to process the SPass which will be deducted from their fee of 1 month for a year contract and 2 months salary for a two year contract. To cut the story short, since my cousin is desperate she decided to pay the $800… so the agency processed the visa application which they truly did because they gave us the tracking number and after a week the MOM sent an email saying that the application was DENIED. The agency told us that they will look for another employer.. but after a week no employer and the agency doesn’t seem to want to reply at our emails and calls. I later met a helpful kababayan and directed me to a legit agency that does not ask for a fee….that agency told us that we can still recover atleast $500 from that agency..
Things to remember:
- reason why MOM denied the application is because employer has no quota or you are not qualified due to your educational attainment
WP- HS graduate (DH or Construction worker)
S PASS- must be college 4 yr course graduate
If the agency still filed the application if you are not qualified for the above mentioned permits they are fooling you, ask for the REJECTION LETTER from MOM to see the reason why you are denied. If the agency cant provide this then tell them straight that you will report to MOM. So we did just that and after that the agency called us and told us they will settle… be sure you keep all receipts from them because they will ask for that since it will be an evidence if you report to MOM… We got our $500 back and charged everything else to experience. Hopes this help our kababayan.

Hi. WHat recruitment did you use after your bad experience with asia recruit? pls send me a msg thanks 91345759
Any comments about infinity jobcom
infinity Jobcom is the same but they only collect 20 dollars for the online form (which is basically just typing your credentials to their clients application service). if you don’t pay, they don’t process your application.
is infiinity job.com a scam?
I’d like to add 33 Talent Spore to this list. In particular one “expat” CON-Sultant. She’s the most clueless, unprofessional, unscrupulous person you’ll ever encounter. Do not trust her, or anything she says. She will go behind your back to do things. If you encounter any job postings from this firm, stay away. If you’re a recruitment person reading this, please don’t jeopardize your company’s reputation by engaging them as your head hunter.
Anyone try before the hr ecology? I scare after reading all this…
What position are you applying?
Just 2day events only
Hello Everyone,
I just wrote a new article which will help you identify bad recruiters in Singapore. Do have a look - https://www.sandboxadvisors.com/find-jobs-singapore/10-signs-of-a-bad-recruiter-employment-agency
Hope you find it useful.
Can you tell me a feedback about Assure Recruitment? Are they legit?

Pls advice me if I can find any reasonable laws not to pay to the recruitment agency.
I just just got a letter from RE asking me to pay a sum for breaching the agreement. I am curios to know what if i ignore it and not pay the amount.

What is RE?
Recruit Express

Do Not join tcc group! They failed to sms me the meeting location and paydays, such that I had to make 3 trips down. Not only did they refuse to apologise and pay me, they blamed me for giving them the wrong number, which they found out was not true. This may one instance, but it just shows their poor attitude and professionalism.
hi amit
i am from india, i have passed building and constructionauthority test. i want work permit of singapore for working in construction so can you please guide me about any good employment agencies in singapore.
thank you
Seem like any other agency is bad… I guess we have to be fair to agency as well, most people provide feedback only when they receive a bad experience.
Please dont try match resources. I just wasted my money paying 150 for the initial interview. the owner is Valerie Song. She can’t help you and give you even any information about the interview
There any other recruitment agency that I will not recommend will be Renaissance Management Services. The boss in this is suck, he likes to flirt with candidates, especially ladies.
Please be careful.
this is very helpful , good information. thanks

*shrug*
How about Jobstudio? Im interested in the jobs they are offering
Hi, Anyone know whether Recruit First and Job studio is it good? Need some advice…
I don’t think any other agency is worst than Zenith Infotech. They are very rude, crafty and very unprofessional. Still they eat from our salaries and do not show any respect for that. It reminds me the days I work at India before migrate to Singapore.
Yes there is. Heard that some are even worse.
Hi,
Just your average Jane/Joe dropping from personal experience in here.
Did someone go to this INFINITY JOBCOM’S address? I got it from their email.. I don’t know if it is a real address…

BAD IMAGE, BAD CONSULTANTS - RECRUIT EXPRESS
Thank you.

Hi Amit,
Thank you for this article. It’s very useful! I’ve been finding a job for quite a while and agencies have never been my option, but I just happened to come across a few that might interest some readers. Allow me to add a few comments.
Infinity - JobCom - Yes, I read several comments about this Naresh guy. NO.
AMBITION - Sad to say, I have negative reviews on this.
ASPIRE GLOBAL NETWORK - This agency is better, and more sincere, but deals mainly with senior applicants for mainly media, advertising, etc.

It is a real address, they have an office there. They would need you to pay about $20 and ask you to fill up their online form.
Infinity jobcom is kinda scam. They called me for an interview but it was more like a profile setup and charged me $20 to set up a profile with them and said will help me find a job. It’s been 5 months, I didn’t hear back from them. Waste
Hi Amit Puri,

HOw about esteem employment agency what can you say about that agency?
Recruit Express has really horrible staff, staff who scold you and indirectly calls you stupid and annoying, just because you lost your way in the midst of finding the company’s actual location. They are so impatient people. They would even insult you saying “this is the first time people got lost” and they will command you to take a cab to the company or whatever means to get to the actual company location. They do not offer any help to you, instead, all they do is blame you for causing such trouble for them and making their blood boil. Also, they give the wrong working hours, upon asking them 3 times and the answers on the working hours were not uniform. They also provided an inaccurate client company and got my NRIC number all mixed up.Such agents at Recruit Express tarnishes the company’s reputation.
Hey Amit!
Thank you very much for the effort exercised in putting together this article, as well as the information provided in responses to comments.
I am a recent Business Management graduate with prior work experience applying for employment in SIngapore. Your article has been very helpful in weeding out the agencies with bad reviews, so I can minimise any possible bad experiences.
For anyone else wondering how to best apply for jobs online, I’d like to re-share a link here that you had posted in a comment response from a while back. https://www.sandboxadvisors.com/find-jobs-singapore/job-sites
Thanks again for all the help and though put in to this, I’m certain you have helped many. Hopefully I’ll be able to secure a suitable job with the use of the well-reviewed agencies and job sites!
Cheers.
Charitha
Most welcome Charitha. I am very happy that you found the post useful.
The idea is to help as many job seekers as possible, so in addition to the article, comments from readers about their experiences is very important. Hopefully people will keep doing that.
All the best with your job search!
Yes i do agree the comments abt recruit express and just to.catch fast sales they.just keep pushing me contract job and, crappy positions for the past years even i wanted a job in a,bank… i wanted to.decline it but their bad attitude n agressiveness push mjusr sharee to accept so i.just rejected it at the end..they stop calling me.. …also another is Wms and kelly services ,they may seem very professional but like what ppl say they can be quite rude n.judge their candidate on the interview attire educational cert etc… and in the past they will pass sarcastic remarks like i m inexperienced or the position is too.gd for me and i shld be more than.happy than to reject it …..>:-<
Is money making all they think of and only to please their clients and not their candidate….i has bad experience with wms too…
Hi Amit, I have been approached by Optimum Solutions for a position in Singapore. I did not see any comment about them in your post. Can you please let me know if you have any information about them? How is their reputation in the market? Is it worth joining on their payrolls for a contractual position? Thanks a ton.
Hi Yash,
I’m not aware of that firm unfortunately
Hi Amit. I’d like to ask your opinion about Weconsulting. Have you heard of this? Thanks.
I got an interview down at Staffing Inc 2 days from now, there doesn’t appear to be anything about them on this post and i was wondering if anybody have been to Staffing Inc and i would like to know more about them.
Anyone heard of Star Recruitment? Not much details on this company and I’m going down to sign the contract tmr. Anyone knows is this company legit or not?
Omg.. I also went to career central and paid 750 for interview. Then i got a called from CC and they said the company selected me for Admin Executive position and they offer 3500$. I don’t believe that. Now yesterday they applied for my spass and still pending. I guess they will do my pass rejected. haisss… Wasted money and finally i will get rejected.
Omg!!! just an hour ago i went to Career Central and paid 750.
there goes my money down the drain.
you didn’t refund back or did you get an interview and rejected by mom?
Hi
We called them and said they will call us back. When they called me Apple asked if I am still willing to look for another.. I said OFCOURSE!! But up to now I have not heard from her… Scam!!
Hi.. i think career central is a scam. My $900 just lost 2 months ago. Apple is the one who entertain me. Whenever I try to call or email thier website, no answer. They’re totally sucks.
hi i want to know if they said you have to pay 170sgd for the marketing of your resume? and also they say is refundable after 7 days if they haven’t a job for you?
Dear, it’s a scam… they can find u employer before 7 days, so 170 will be non refundable. .. and so on… they will ask u to pay 759 for key in… all in all they know you will be rejected by the mom. Trust me
Hi..
I had entered the workforce for abt 3 years Recently looking out for job as my Singapore office branch closing down.
I had found a job through prime staff agency as a billing coordinator at a us oil & gas mnc.
It is actually to cover maternity but might also be converted to perm if other dept in the company needs me & enough headcount after the contract is up..
Anybody can advise me whether can take up this job as it is contract & under prime staff.
They want me to sign contract as soon as possilbe at 1 july & start work on 2 july.
And also actually my interest is in administrative but not much job response in that area.
Should I also approach robert walters agency? I emailed them my cv but no response.
They have more admin/secretary post but seems mid level.
Prime staff seems so rushed to want me start work. scared sth suspicious.
I once thought kelly services was quite a decent company, however, a recent job appellation for a 2 days event job changed my take on their company. Upon applying for a 2 day researcher job under the kelly services staff name of VALARIE, i was given instructions to keep some of my days free and go down to their office to sign a contract. However, i did not even get the job in the end and was told that the contract is only activated upon selection by them. i have two other friends that went down together and we all did not get the job. So why get so many people to go down and sign the contract if there aren’t that many spaces? Just for selfish reason of reserves/backups on their side they are wasting the time of of applicants that kept their days free on the promise of a job and only to disappointed. I for one turned down other plans in anticipation of this job and this unethical and selfish behaviour of Kelly Services have given me a new perspective on them and their staff.
I am Very Happy about this Article..But How to know about consultancy ..is it good or bad..:) Almost i spend 900 $ for job in singapore since 2 months..still i didnt get job..So please advise me which consultancy is good for getting jobs for CHEFS ..I am WESTERN CHEF..
Thanks to all
Amit, really useful article. Now I at least know which agencies to stay away from. Thanks man.
any idea this EPS CONSULTANTS PTE LTD
(HR recruitment agency) https://www.eps.com.sg/
This is a lot later from the post but EPS is quite ok compared to other agencies. My pay was never delayed and calculation is transparent.
Hi! Do you know about network asia in bugis? Are they really a good agency? What agency could you recommend to foreigners? Thanks!
what happen cuz i received an email from them
how did the interview go with Infinity Jobcom? we also received a call from Naresh
I just received a call and email from Naresh from Infinity Jobcom…i’ve decided not to go as i feel that the interview place is so far away…and also i forgot that my washing machine is coming in tomorrow…so i have to postpone the interview tomorrow…suddenly it struck my mind about recruitment agencies…as i received a call from Caprica before and they said that they will have to take 1st pay from me for registration if they offered me a job…so i decided to look thru google about Infinity Jobcom…if this is how it looks…i’m thankful i came across this forum…also i wanna add about MCI consulting…i went to a job interview after they recommended me a job..the person’s name is Kian as he says…did not have to go down to their office for interview…but was told to go straight to the company they offered….so i went…but i didnt know that the company says its a 5.5 days work…which i already highlighted in the phone conversation with the recruiter that i only want a 5 days work….i’ve worked 5.5 days jobs before…but after a while landed on two other jobs which are 5 days work…now i’m more comfortable with 5 days jobs….he told me that the company is ok with 5 days work….so i was confused…went home and tried to contact him the next day to ask….no response…he responded 2 days later after i asked him again…and said he checked with the company…but still waiting for reply…and till now…i received no answers from him…but after 2 days of no response from him after our last contact….of course i went to call the company myself (thinking…maybe its not that bad to just work 5.5 days as the company is not that far from home…)….turns out…they filled up the position i went to interview for…i felt really down after that…..sigh….
i also received a call from Naresh. he told me that i dont need to pay anything. when i called back another person answered and she told me about the $20 registration fee. I find it fishy so I will not go for their interview anymore.
yes also Naresh the one who call me
no good, waste of time and money..i registered with them almost 2 mos but nothing happen…
Hello Ram and Tanjen, Did you push for Infinity?
hi all… meaning infinity is not good? and not to worthy? is this a scam?
Naresh called me too from infinity..went down for interview asked me to pay $10 but after a week still no update. a bit rude and sarcastic guy.
I got a mail from Naresh..for job..could i go or no??
I wouldn’t say Infinityjobcom is a scam, it’s just borderline. The one way to detect is ask them to send you an official email for the appointment (a.k.a. “interview in their office before passing to the client”, ask you for up front fees to “deposit your resume in their recruitment database” or something else), they will find reasons to avoid sending you that email. Then you’ll know if they’re trust worthy.
do u have any idea Infinity Jobcom https://jobcom.sg/index.php
they charged Sgd20 for registration fee and wait for 2 week to 3 week for employer to be interview do u think is this real?
Does Anybody here have heard AICG Recruitment Agency? They offer No Agent Fee & Free Spass/Epass application but they have this $20 registration fee. I am not sure if I sure go…
I got a call from we consulting, and I had an interview tomorrow, do you think this agency is legit? or any ideas about this?
me also https://www.weconsulting.com.sg/join-us.html for tomorrow for preliminary interview ?
Hi… Any feedback on this? May interview din daw po sana kami dito eh.
They say before they processed your application they need you to do some administration work for them??? what is is that? lol
hi. any update in We Consulting? My sister is suppossed to have a preliminary interviee tomorrow. Please feedback. Thanks!
Hi, I was invited for an interview tomorrow by BT Employment Agency, I’m just wondering if anybody here have any idea about them. I am a foreigner applicant by the way.
U have to pay Moreeeeeeeeee Money to get job in BT Employment
hi is this scam?.because i also got a call from bt employment.pls help dont know if i shud come or not.thanks
I’ve been researching for an agency called WeConsulting until I found this page a little too late, but I’m still hoping that the firm would be able to help me get hired. I paid $25 for the registration fee in WeConsulting located at 520 sims avenue early this morning. They promised me that they will send my resume to their clients and that they will be contacting me asap. They also told me that they do not charge any amount to applicants aside from the registration fee. It’s too early to give up now that I tried them, but i just got startled when I saw a feedback from this page that WeConsulting’s job posts are fake. I will give you guys an update once I found out since I’ve already tried it… Btw, DOES STARBUCKS SINGAPORE HIRE FOREIGNERS? Goodluck to us! 🙂
Hi Hope, is there any update from WeConsulting so far? Been researching for it, thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Val, so far, after 2 business days, no call or SMS from WeConsulting…
I got a call from we consulting, and I had an interview tomorrow, do you think this agency is legit? or any ideas about this? do you have any feedbacks with regards to your application?
PinoyCE, to be honest, i am doubting now. I tried to look for WeConsulting in MOM even Welsonn Erique Consulting but I never found any… If you also notice their website… It’s different from their agency name which is kind of suspicious. Instead of their company name it is under “asaprecruit”. I sent a msg updating my status but to no avail. They said that the employer will just reach me if i am shortlisted. I’m still in the state of “denial” hoping that they are legit since I already paid them $25(cheaper than other agency, but still, that’s a big amount for us pinoys).
My advice to you is, don’t go, because I really which i didn’t. You’ll save your reg fee and top up.
Hope, thanks for the reply! i’ll just take your advice. 🙂
pinoy ka rin b
i think most of us here are Pinoy… any suggestion on where we could apply directly? Still pushing my luck here in Singapore…
me 2
Best of Luck to Us 🙂
thanks for the advise in regards with WeConsulting, I received a call today for interview I’d rather not to go…
Yeah, they’re just too good to be true, after i registered myself for s$20, i never got any call or whatsoever from them.
thanks pinoyCe for the advise
Dear all, DO NOT TRUST OR ATTEND ANY INTERVIEWS WITH Welsonn Erique Consulting. They are a fraud company who charges this nominal “registration fees” perhaps $10 or $20 but all their job postings are fake.
What happen to your WE Consulting jobs now? Are hired already?
For we consulting? Or welsonn Erique consulting… Nothing happened… Gone with the wind… After paying the 25$, I’ve never heard from them, not an update… Nothing, so please guys.. Especially foreigners and to my kababayan, beware of scum agencies… There are a lot of foreigners who are determined and desperate to get a job here in singapore.make sure to always do a research first before paying or negotiating. Or talk to random workers that you meet cause most of them are from agencies… Still, you’ve got to have a huge amount of money in order to get a job from agencies ranging from 3000-4000 SGD.
I haven’t tried Achieve, but Recruit Express is definitely one of the worst. They give inapt descriptions regarding the job scope, and you would soon realize that it’s a trap because you have to sign the contract with them.
An advise for people who made the mistake of signing their contracts, and if your job condition is absolutely horrible: F*** up your job so badly that your employer has no choice but to fire you. You’ll lose part of your salary but it’s a quick way out, and you won’t have to pay Recruit Express a single cent.
uhhmmmmm *advice
And for those wondering if you would get a bad record for doing that, I highly doubt so (as nothing was written in my case). The recruiter did call me up and chided a lot on responsibility, which I didn’t bother listening to because she was the one who lacked responsibility in the first place, painting a horrible job in a good light while hiding the job scope and salary.
I’m guessing they’re so incompetent with their job that they couldn’t even be bothered to blacklist me.
Lastly, your blog post is helpful and really helped me out! Thanks!
Thank for your comment and feedback on the post. Appreciate it
Hi Amit
I got a job offer through a certain agency a few days ago, however I was totally dissatisfied when I went to sign the contract because previously over the phone the agent had told me that the client is interested in hiring me but with a lesser pay and I had to confirm whether it is yes or no on the phone, I said ‘yes as long as the pay is as per my expectation’, she told said ‘yes I will speak to the client’ but you should guarantee you will stop looking for jobs but I could sense she was in a hurry. I go there after 3-4 days and see the contract was with the same low pay and also revealed only then that I will be hired under that recruitment firm. The interview I attended was for a reputable client and I was under the impression that I am being hired by them!! The agent went through the contract, there was no pressure to be honest I signed it but regretted my decision, also after signing I got to know that due to personal reasons I will not be able to start work as per the stipulated date and the agent agreed to change the date for me after a lot of pleading.
Now the contract says that I have to serve a 1 and half months notice period or pay them that amount of I decide to quit and that if I do not got to work the first day, I pay them one month’s salary, I am yet to go to work after 2 days and an interview with a dream company happened yesterday by chance and I got the job.The manager of the company insisted he speak to the agent and request for a early release, he is even willing wait for those one and a half months if the contract demands but both he and I feel there is no point in starting work if I have to leave in a few days.
I understand I have not been very fair and if I had continued working for the agency I would not have that interfere with my job but I am human too ,there would have been some regret, so I decided to go ahead with the second offer, I do not intend to cheat, the agent got really angry which is justified but if I am going with the contractual terms and going there the first day, resigning and serving the notice period /until they find a suitable candidate is there a problem. The agent just said he cannot help me in any way and asked me to send an email and there has been no reply yet and I do not know what to do.
Hi AN,
First of all - congratulations on getting a job with your dream company!
While not ideal, such situations do happen. As you’ve mentioned, your options now are to either serve the 1.5 months notice or ask the dream employer to pay the notice period amount to the recruiter. As long as you follow the contract terms, you’ll be fine.
Make sure all communication with the recruiter is documented over email and keep a record of that.
if any body here has any plans on negotiating with CAREER CENTRAL, don’t. First they will let you pay 1. s$40 for registration, 2. s$130 for marketing, and 3. s$750 for a job interview. all along they will claim that everything is refundable and they will issue these receipts that are of no value. because just as soon as you take another step in their process, they’ll let you pay the “fee” and what you previously paid for is gone. I was excited to hear that after a day of fully paying their fees, i was offered for an interview immediately, and said i passed the interview and they were going to submit the MOM application. They told me to submit an epass. i took the online assessment tool myself and it showed i was only qualified for an s-pass. i called them, and they assured me its going to be okay.
so i waited for a couple of days, they told me the pass was rejected..and promised to still market my resume for free. as for now, i’m still waiting for an interview, so far, none.
my advice to those aspiring applicants, apply online. do not come here and venture and gamble to agencies because most of the time, they’ll only get what they need. big investments doesnt mean its assured. and especially nowadays that they’re really prioritizing their locals.
Sorry to hear about your experience ABC.
It is important not to pay a recruiter any fee for marketing or getting you an interview! That is not ethical practice for a recruiter.
your blog wouldve saved me, Amit, if only i stumbled on it earlier. there’s very little sources of agency infos like this.
Great to know that you find the content useful. Do get in touch with us if there is anything we can help with at this point
unlucky, I din read your post earlier. Exactly faced the same situation and lost money. Along with me around 7 got through interview and rejected by MOM this week. They earn a lot cheating others.
Hi Amit! Do you know about Candidateasia? They seems like a good agency company based on their profile but I am still trying to figure out because they are asking for a registration fee which is quite expensive. Do you happen to know any feedback on them? I can’t find any review in web. Thank you!
Hi J,
I haven’t heard about CandidateAsia. However, if the registration fee they are asking for is more than a token/nominal amount, I would be wary.
Thanks Amit, I dont know if it is logical to pay 250 to them coz they are saying they will gladly market my resume, coach me before int enterview and guide me on my career search. They sound okay but I am worry because of the fee which is expensive. If ever you ot anybody here in the forum have knowledge in this agency, please help. I really can’t figure out.
Hi J,
When I doubt, I think it’s better to stay clear and try other agencies
hi how about R&G business solutions? any review? they ask 1 month salary after getting Loc. After that the job will secure or not?
Hi Aravind,
I just got the mail from R&G business solutions. They are asking for 1 month pay once license is approved. Asked to sign a letter.
Can u please share your experience with us. I am worried as if the position they offer is genuine? What if the job is not secure?
Hi Aravind,
RGBS is one of the worst recruitment agency. My personal experience is that after I got job from them I paid one month salary I lost my job within three months. they wont place you in secure job, they told me that they will find me another job but till now no response not even replying to my mail and phone calls. totally I lost 1800$ because of them. pass which they gave to work got cancelled within three months so I paid 500$ to ICA as a fine.
I was invited for a so-called Preliminary Interview for Director position by WeConsulting, located at 520 Sims Avenue #02-01 on March 17. Recruiter clearly knew nothing about digital business. I was a bit shocked of their quality and even surprised to asked to pay S$10 as Singaporean/PR. They charge S$25 to foreigners as registration fee. They call job seekers through JobsDB by posting a fake position and collect fee from job seekers if they are willing to pay and require job seekers to sign an acknowledgement form. Holy crap and be careful!
Thanks for sharing Liu Zhen.
You’re welcome, Amit.
yes me 2 for tomorrow
Sorry to hear about your experience with Achieve Danny
Hi Amit,
I am looking for Marketing Analytics/ Research, BI roles within the SIngapore market. I have been working here for sometime, but have used my contacts/network in switching roles. DO you know of any employment agencies who specialize in this area.
Hi Zombie,
No recruiters come to mind, who specialise in that area in Singapore
I happen to chance upon this website and it provides great information on job agencies. I also encountered one bad incident with this agency called “De-Factors Consultants”
Initially the agent was fast in responding to my application - took a day to respond.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Such information is always useful and helps other job seekers.
OMG…i just went to De-Factors last week…the interview was at first nice to me…took my copies of my qualifications and stuff…after she came back….she brought her team leader to sit in…the interview went ok in the start…then she look thru my resume and start questioning why is it that the gaps between the job history i have more that 2-3 mths…yes i do sometimes take my time to find a job…but for me…its not just about finding a job…i would find a job rather meticulously…because experiences taught me…some companies hire anyone with a pulse…of course everyone will have preferences to what job to take…and some of the gaps she was talking about was because i was retrenched…so i had no time to secure another job when i left…and i feel its my right if i wanna take some time off working before i take on another job that i like….the team leader who was sitting in…after i explained to her about the gaps….her face changed like she don’t like what i’m saying….after i left…there’s no news from them about any job offers whatsoever…i also feel like i don’t want to care for applying to jobs from recruitment companies anymore…its too troublesome….
Hi Amit, would you have any recommendations for best recruiters for senior roles (above $100K annual salary)? Thank you
Hi Erica,
Some of the international recruiters (like Adecco, Robert Half, etc.) handle such roles (in addition to junior roles) and then there are employment agencies like Egon Zehnder, who focus of executive/senior positions.
hi I’m Charmaine Anero, i’m here at Singapore for almost 2 months I’m here to pursue my career. i met an agent here last April. He interviewed me to know my background, he let me meet the employer and had interviewed by the employer. After that he collect me SGD 290 for the processing of my employment pass. after a week the m.o.m rejected my pass. my agent said that there is no problem with my files and with the employer. after two days, he said that he file me for an appeal letter to the m.o.m. as of now there is no result coming from the agency. he never texted me or had a called. my social vist pass is nearly to end. what will i do?? i need to have a job here. i want to work here. i want to pursue my career here. i wish that you can help me in this situation. thank you very much.
Hi I’m Eric from Philippines. I am searching for a Technical Help Desk Support position in the Business Process Outsourcing Industry in SG. Do you happen to know Agency that doesn’t ask for a S$50-80 registration fee?
Dear Sir,
My name is Smidha and i am a Malaysian citizen. I am currently looking for an Administrative/HR position in Singapore. I read the above article and i was wondering on how not to get fleeced as my cousin sister and i were cheated by a so-called recruitment agent recently in Johore. Please advise. Thank you.
Hi Smidha,
The safest way is to stick to the bigger/international recruiters, don’t make any payment to the employment agency in Singapore and make sure you read all contracts very carefully
hello, i just want to know what is the best agency for medical area here in Singapore.
I want to work as an assistant radiographer.
Best practice is there should be
* NO fees charged on the candidate, because the employer will way
* Support the candidate in doing due diligence on the Company, Interviewers, possible questions
* Follow up with the candidate once in few months on new openings, even if the employer today rejects the resume (sometimes, head hunters cannot help it if employers are picky)
* Follow up with the candidate after he/she has signed a few months into the New Job to get feedback
Cheers.
Couldn’t have put it better myself 🙂
Thanks for the insightful comment Dng
Peoplesearch is not that bad. It is a related company of RE but it is run by different team leaders running the company have a more candidate centric way of doing business.
Sometimes its those headhunters desperate to close a sale, that act unethically. They usually do not last long in the business and leave the company. Sadly the bad reputation is permanent.
Hence, if we had a bad experience with one of the recruiters and he/she is no longer employed I think we can continue to network with that company. However, some of the WORST companies mentioned above…. “3 strikes and you are out!” it is clearly a managerial problem.
I had a good experience with profilesearch selection.
Wah, it’s really useful and nice to read this article. Thank you for your sharing. Recently I had received few calls from recruitment agencies like Ace Talent Consulting and Adecco Personnel. Do you have any ideas about Ace Talent Consulting as I can’t find it from feedback mentioned in the article?
I realised that recruiters never mention any compensate and fee if we accept their job offer while they wanted me to attend a interview. So, should I ask them first before go to interview scheduled by them?
Most welcome.
Haven’t heard/read too much about that recruitment agency unfortunately, so can’t be of much help.
Typically recruiters should not be asking you for any payment, since they take a few from the employer. No harm in asking though, since there are firms that do not follow good practices.
What can anybody say about Achive Group, Jobknight COnsultants, BAYES Recruitment, Recruit Express, The Advertisers and Today’s Career?
any feedback about achieve Group? because I am about to attend a interview scheduled by them
I am a HR professional currently having the poorest of luck to work with Allegis Talent 2.
Thanks for providing a picture from the other side of the fence JustMyLuck.
How about City Hr?
anyone ever went through City HR?
That is quite strange Angry Girl.
The recruiter was probably in a hurry and didn’t see your profile properly before.
Hi, I am Sangeetha from Tamil Nadu, India. I am finding job for my brother who has done M SC chemistry and working as a Chemist R & D in Bangalore with 4 years of experience. Could You please help me to get him Job in Singapore. My email Id is sangeetk200776@gmail.com

Hi Amit, I am visu from India. I Have six years of experience in banking industry in India. I always wanted to work in singapore. But I found out very difficult now to try in Banking industry. So i got an offer in supermarket in singapore thru an agencies in india for SGD 1500 but actuall salary will be SGD 3000. The role would be senior cashier. Most probably I would join the company by jan 2013. Six months down the line I would like to try my luck in banking industry in singapore. Is it possible, will there be any difficult and which is the best recruitment conusltant for Banking sector. Kindly help me.
Hi Visu,
I’m afraid I can’t predict if you’ll be able to transition into the banking industry in Singapore. It really depends on your background and the market, amongst other variables.
Many of the good recruiters in Singapore (like the ones listed in this article) handle banking/financial services jobs, since that’s a big component of the market in Singapore.
TrueGlobal/ J2Logic (India), McCread (Technodyne) are the 2 horrible recruitment firm. TrueGlobal have horrible requirements in the US working from Past 1-2 yrs, the recruiters have to submit 9 profiles per week, if the recruiter fails, then they they have to work night i e on Weekends…
McCread (Technodyne): A Jail with Cameras Lol, they follow the same as Trueglobal, hire then fire and enjoy harming them.

thanks much!
Hi Axerra - don’t have much feedback on 123 employment agency unfortunately
This company is associated with Step Up Marine Enterprise, which is involved in human trafficking and illegal recruitment.

DO NOT go to this agency!
Hai amit,
Iam searching job at singapore , i like to know wether singapore gvt have any rules for agencies getting jobs for foriengners in payment and even getting the right job like that can you give details please
Hi Mr. Amit,
I have some question to you. I was offered by Raffles Agency a job at a restaurant with a salary of 1600SGD a month. They are requiring me to work 6 days a week for 12 hours a day. Is it fair and legal? Because according to MOM website if an employees is receiving less than 2000SGD a month he/she is not required to work for more than 9 hours a day.. And lastly, is this Raffles Agency a legal agency in Singapore? Thanks and hoping to hear from you soon. More power
Hello Amit,
Do add RecruitPlus to your list of worst recruitment agency.
I called them up to enquire about a
position they have listed on JobsDB.
The consultant, Christopher Lim,
answered my call and did not even address himself.
He spoke with a rather unpleasant/unfriendly tone as if everyone owes him the
world. What made me unhappy was when he asked me what I wanted when clearly I
told him I called to enquire about the position availability and more details
of the job. None of the queries were answered, after which the call was
disconnected abruptly. I called back immediately and questioned why the call
was hung up. He responded saying that he was in the lift and did not even
apologize. He went on asking what my expected and previous salary was and
commented rudely after hearing my answer. His exact words were,”Huh! Why you
want to change job, your pay so good, I suggest you stay in your current job.”
I was literally speechless. He went on saying I don’t have the experience
without even vetting through my resume. Totally un-professional! The best part
is that I googled his Linkin account and found out he does not even have
experience in this field. Really makes you wonder if the recruitment agency really
has the capacity to actually help job seekers.
Sir Amit,
i just want to ask sir.., is it legal to get a registration fee of S$20.00-S$50.00 for foreign jobsekers.?? and after the registration fee and been selected by employer we have to pay S$150.00-S$300.00.?? as far as i know employers paid the recruitment agencies for the key in at MOM… why they are charging us these kind of fees without the assurance of getting the pass approve.??! can we report this to MOM.??!
Hi Sir Amit,
It’s still me, the one that commented on your article THE TRUTH ABOUT JOBS IN SINGAPORE FOR FOREIGNERS. If I decline both offers, would I still have another shot for an offer or would it be better off to just get the job and deal with it… hoping to get your insights about this Sir Amit as soon as you can…Thanks again for all the advice on your previous articles.
hello there, I too have been to both the agencies. My friend got a job through R & G business solutions but that was on LOC so she had to pay only her one month salary to the agency which is legal. But I didn’t get registered with any of them because after paying $3k to $4k, job of $1300 or max $1500 is not convincing that too when you have good experience. In my view Its better to reject the offer because once you join you and then leave are liable them to pay them additional amount.
hello amit. I am currently looking for a job right now. While I am reading all the comments above I think I know where to go now. Thank you guys.. By the way If you guys know the HR millenium agency, please please don’t try to go there.. they are the worst.. they will collect your 50 sgd and promise to find you a job and will call you as soon as possible but yah,, no calls from them actually and if you will call them they will keep on asking question and pass you always in different department.. It was irritating so I asked them what did they do to my 50 sgd then they said they keep on trying to find a employee for me… Hello?.. I went there like january 26 and still haven’t received any call from them.. oh my god… GOD BLESS THEM!
hi che… thank you for your information.. i’m about to go to HR MILLENIUM next week ‘coz i’ve been looking for forums about this recruitment agency and i can’t find any complain.. i thought they were different from those agency that i’ve through… anyway,, thank you so much.!! TO ALL JOBSEEKERS please.. please… please be careful with the recruitment agency… most of just want to have your registration fee and Key in fee at MOM… please be advice to to engage with MARTINO AGENCY, GLOBAL RECRUITMENT, NEXT CONCEPT., SM ASIA… all of these are non sense agency…
Hey Amit! This is really helpful. I just completed my Bachelors in business administration with specialization in marketing this year and I’m trying to find a job in Singapore . Which agency do you think will be most appropriate to help me get a job there?
Thank you!!
Hi Prashanth,
You should try contacting the usual suspects. A quick Google search and you’ll find the most popular local/international agencies.
Also have a look at my response to Mona - same advice would apply for you as well :).
Thanks Mona - appreciate the feedback :).
He could try using some of the bigger job sites as well, like JobsDB, Jobscentral and JobStreet. Most of the jobs are posted by recruiters on these sites, so he’ll be able to see which ones are handling the profiles he is interested in.
He can then try cold calling some of those firms also and additionally try to get in touch with them through LinkedIn/Twitter.
Hi Amit, I love the way you write… just perfect and really funny 🙂
My husbands looking for a job in Transaction Banking Sales, which agency you think he should approach. I mostly search through STjobs but then its just a website.
Thanks!
I’m a student. I went to BGC hearing I’ve that they can offer me a job from the duration of June to Aug in retail. At the interview, I learnt that it is phased out into two separate weeks throughout 3 months. The consultant was really not concerned about the my interests and only concerned about getting the contract signed.
Hi Shiznick. Yes, unfortunately at the end of the day, recruiters are sales people and therefore will typically be most concerned about closing the deal.
The thing is, we often blame the agency when some (not all) of its consultants are inexperienced/rude/lousy. I hope this self-righteous behaviour can begin to take a more just and balanced turn.
Hi Berrybutterbat,
There certainly are many good recruiters. That can be seen from the feedback mentioned in the article as well.
What I found interesting when looking at all the feedback from job seekers on forums, is that certain recruitment agencies had a majority of bad reviews and others had mostly good reviews. That does give some indication of firms which typically treat job seekers fairly and those which don’t.
I do agree that some balance in the comments would be nice. So folks - please post good experiences that you’ve had with employment agencies in Singapore as well.
Dear Amit,
I am from India and now working in Africa, I am looking for a career change and preferably in Singapore as i can see that there are many companies who require logistics personnel, I want to know how to approach the companies or the recruiters , because applying by website does not fetch a reply from any of the companies. I want your suggestion on this, either is there any other way i can search for a job in Singapore. Please guide me in order i can follow the same to get a good job in Logistics/Shipping industry. Thanks in advance. Asif
Hi Asif,
Other than recruitment agencies, you can also engage in physical networking(events, seminars, etc.) and social networking (linkedin, twitter) to meet with relevant people and find job opportunities. Do search our website for articles with tips for these job search strategies.
All the best!
Thanx alot for the valuable info
You’re most welcome Tehrim.
can any one suggest me regarding pharmaceutical industry
Hi, I was under 3 months contract with RE and my company. I received a letter of termination today from the company. And my agent from RE called and say I still have to pay 80% of my monthly gross salary as the liquidated damages. But my contract only state if “… Fail to report for work, or resign within 90days (from commencement date), I shall pay RE a liquidated damages of 80% of my monthly gross salary.” I told my agent that the contract did not state that I need to pay if I get terminated. And she say it is because of my actions that’s why I am terminated so I have to pay. Afterwards, she said she will check on her side and get back to me. Which means, she herself is unsure of the contract. So to say, if the contract did not state that I need to pay when I get terminated which means I don’t have to pay right? Ridiculous! Help please!
Unless the contract clearly states that you need to pay the recruitment agency upon termination you shouldn’t need to pay. However, things can always have grey areas with legal documents.
I would certainly like to help and avoid a situation where you make a payment, without it being required. If you think it’ll be useful, we could have a talk to discuss in more detail and I’d be happy to provide whatever guidance/support I can till the issue is resolved.
Just call on our board line and ask for me.
Good day! i’ve been to vga employment agency, the consultant is very rude, he shout and always say stupid even though you are asking in a very nice way which is very unprofessional.. but i wonder why most of the applicants there has been approved by mom since they are bringing there applicants to a small company.. i also have experience in SG recruiters worst!
Hi Beti,
Thanks for your inputs.
I hope you had better experiences with other recruitment agencies in Singapore.
I been to GMP recruitment , their service was really bad , applicants were left stranded in the room and clients were left clueless and lost at the counter with no receptionist and I wondered why is there a bell when everybody is inside the office. Overall , bad bad experience. Poor customer service, bad management and unprofessional. They really need a ” Gordon Ramsay” to wake them up.
Thanks for providing your feedback on GMP recruitment in Singapore BigUnknown. Will be useful for other job seekers.
Thank you for this interesting compilations, Amit. Everyone should read this article. Email me when you’ve come up with 2012 list! 🙂 Thanks!
Most welcome Barry. Good to know that you found the information useful
I would like to ask if how is the processing of this kind of recruitment agency like Adecco and GMP. I am here in the Philippines and planning to go to singapore nextmonth. How long is the waiting interval from the time you pass the resume to their respective website and how much is the processing fee? How about HR millenium? Do you have any feedbacks from that particular recruitment agency? thank you
Hi Aimee,
There is no average processing time for resumes sent to recruitment agencies. It might take a few days, or you might not hear from them at all. Typically, employment agencies do not charge candidates any fee. They collect a fee from the employers.
In addition to recruiters, do make sure you try and contact employers directly using social networking tools, like LinkedIn and Twitter. If you search on our website you’ll find articles to help with that.
Good luck!
Hi,I am from the Philippines. I have strong experience in a semiconductor production environment. Which do you think is the best recruitment agency for me?
Thank you
Noel
Hi Amit,
This is a great post!!
We are a couple from the UK who have moved to Singapore and can start our 6 month visa at any time (WHP).
We have sent our CVs to quite a few recruitment agencies in response to appropriate jobs. We have found that no recruiters are calling us, is this normal?
Many thanks,
Sarah
Thanks Sarah! 🙂
With recruitment agencies in Singapore, it’s really a hit and miss. If you call them (and manage to get a hold of someone), they will speak with you if they have relevant openings to fill at that point in time. Otherwise, they’ll ask you to send your resume for their database, which is a black hole :).
If you’re applying to advertisements posted by employment agencies on job sites, then that’s usually a numbers game and you need to make quite a few applications before you get a response. Have a look at this article for some pointers - https://www.sandboxadvisors.com/insights/transition-job-search-strategy/job-sites/
There are a lot of tips/ways to improve the success rate but too much to cover here unfortunately.
Hi Amit,
I do think that the review can be quite subjective, as your review is based on 1 particular consultant from individual agency. I have encountered good services from your so call “bad agency” before.
And I believe most of them deserved a second chance. Just like any organization, there will be poor performance staff yet on the other hand, there will be good performance staff.
Thank you for your effort in doing this review. 🙂
Hi Robert,
This is certainly not meant to be the last word about any of the recruitment agencies.
It is simply a compilation of reviews/feedback posted by job seekers around the web and it is just to provide people with many views in one place.
Perhaps you could share your positive experiences, so that job seekers can get an even more balanced picture?
hello Amit, I am looking for feedback in Headsearch Management Pte Ltd, is it best agency for foreigner, they require to pay $300 1wst and if pass is ok, less for $4100. Hope you can help me before I will go to the agency.
Thank you so much..
Hi! Just want to ask if Headsearch Management Pte. Ltd. help you to find a job?
I agree with “TBC is commonly recognised as one of the worst agencies in Singapore.”
Had a nasty experience with a TBC consultant 🙁
Hi Steven,
What happened with TBC?
Did you have a good experience with any recruiters in particular?
Hi Amit,
To cut the whole story short, I was treated unprofessionally and very rudely by this male consultant who is also the management executive of TBC, as written on his name card. Thus I’m not going to engage in their services anymore or recommend to anyone.
I would say Adecco, GMP and Stafflink are quite good. Gotten some contract jobs from them and I’m pleasant with their professionalism and friendly service. 🙂
Good post.
Yup. Adecco worked for me. And they found me work in different countries. A+ for Adecco
Manpower is not the master vendor for IBM. It is Adecco! 🙂 Been Master Vendor since the 90’s!!
hi amit, i have a few questions in mind, i hope you could respond. anyway, is pursuing an agency for job hunt a better idea for us jobseekers??? i have plans of visiting singapore in june. and i’d be willing to spend a sum of money for an agency. knowing it would save me more time to look for a job and will increase my chances of booking one as what my friend suggests. the school i graduated from is recognized by the ministry of manpower in sg. and i have at least 3 years of job experience in the customer service area etc. im also a licensed nurse but no plans to pursue my career as a nurse though. however, my friend tells me it’s not a good idea to visit and look for a job in may or june because of the election? is this true? he also says that the ministry of manpower in sg has already reached its quota for the application of an s-pass and that policies will be changed during those times? so, will going this june be a disadvantage for us jobseekers? and is spending for an agency worth it, helpful and more of an advantage for jobseekers? thanks amit! have a good day!
Hi Jacob,
It is good to use all the job search methods i.e. job sites, employment agencies and online/physical networking.
What type of agency are you referring to? You should not be paying anything to an employment agency. They typically collect fees from employers and it’s not good practice if they are asking you to pay as well. I would suggest avoiding such agencies.
I usually recommend starting the job search, getting feedback from the market and generating some leads, before visiting Singapore.
hi amit, thank you for being so balance and for being the brainchild of this..this is jose..and i am a medical technologist, most of the inquiries/concerns here are from business field.kindly help me in which recruitment firm should we in the medical field go.thanks in advance.
this article is very useful for job hunters, I also have an idea to get a job in Singapore within this year. Hope this may help me after few months. But I prefer sites like jobsDB more than these agencies first.
Thanks Asian Guy.
The thing is that most of the job advertisements on sites like JobsDB are posted by employment agencies/recruiters, so in the end it comes to the same thing.
I think you’ll like this article as well - Aunt’s Evening Walk + LinkedIn = Successful Job Search. It provides a practical approach to networking, which you can use for your job search, in addition to job sites/recruiters
